Deseret Peak Cub Camporee Cub-bots (Tigers, Wolf, Bear) Leaders Guide Day Camp this year will be held at Elton City Park on 400 North & Broadway in Tooele. Camp will be in session from 9:00 am 3:00 pm, with check in starting at 8:15 am. CHECK IN At check in, you will be required to bring the following: It is required from BSA that all youth and adults must fill out a Medical Form o https://www.scouting.org/filestore/healthsafety/pdf/680-001_ab.pdf Unit Roster for those youth attending the event. Map for event will be provided at check in As leaders, YOU will be responsible for entertaining your Cub Scouts until camp opening ceremonies begin at 9:00 am. CAMP RULES There will be NO refunds rain or shine, cub camp will be held. All participants will be required to wear an identification band. Please only scouts and leaders at this event. No pets will be allowed NO registered youth will be allowed to leave early unless a parent comes to pick them up. Knives are not allowed. There will be an opportunity to purchase knives at the Trading Post, but they are to remain with the adult leader until the youth is dropped off at home 2-deep leadership is REQUIRED at ALL times and must remain with your group. If a leader needs to leave, you MUST have another leader to cover (2 leaders for up to 10 youth, 3 for 11-15, and 4 for 16-20). Youth must practice the Buddy System at all times. EMERGENCY PROCEDURES In case of severe weather, please do the following: o Severe rain or hail: Take cover. Move to the best and nearest shelter available in pavilions or tents, o Severe electrical storm: Stay away from high trees, playground equipment Lost Youth o Report lost boy to Camp Director/Staff immediately. o No one will be allowed to leave camp area until boy is found Health Emergencies o Report to First Aid station REQUIREMENTS TO BE PASSED OFF: This list is an approximation and things may change prior to camp. POCKET KNIFE PERMISSION FORM Please fill out this form PRIOR to arriving at camp. NO youth will be sold a pocket knife without the permission of their parent or guardian. Have this form ready to turn in at check-in. In exchange, each youth that has been given permission to purchase a pocket knife will be given one wristband to be worn the entire camp session. NO wristbands will be replaced. Leader must be present to purchase. Once purchased, the knife must be given directly to an adult leader who is to store the knife until the end of camp when the youth is dropped off at his home. Personal knives are NOT allowed at camp. To qualify for the scholarship, one BSA registered leader (above) will volunteer at the District Day Camporee for both entire days, Friday, June 1 and Saturday, June 2, 2018. Registered volunteer will be assigned to either the Cub Scout Day Camporee or the Webelos Scout Day Camporee. Upon completion of satisfactory service a check will be mailed to the unit s Charter Organization Representative made out to pack.
