Redevelopment of Habibganj Bhopal Railway Station Habibganj Bhopal Railway station will be a five platform station. It will have six lifts, eleven escalators, ree travellators and ree subways, one of which will be dedicated for parcels. It will have separate arrival and departure areas and dedicated parking facilities for pick-ups and drop-offs. In case of fire, e passengers can reach designated safety points in six minutes. It will also be disabled-friendly. The station will have provision for generating solar energy on its premises. On 14 July 2016 e Indian Railways revealed e first look of a world-class station expected to come up at Habibganj in Bhopal in ree years. (Consortium Member) is based upon using revenues generated rough leveraging of commercial development of surplus railway land and e air space above railway tracks. The Development Agreement was signed on 14 July 2016 at Rail Bhavan, New Delhi under e auspices of e Hon'ble Railway Minister, Mr. Suresh Prabhu. A model of e proposed Habibganj Bhopal Station Sone Railway Bridge at Dehri-On-Sone Hon'ble Railway Minister Mr. Suresh Prabhu being given a briefing on e model A bridge of leng 3.06 km over river Sone is under construction between Sone Nagar and Dehri-On-Sone railway stations. Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Ltd. (DFCCIL), M/s ATEPL-MGCPL (JV) and M/s ICT Pvt. Ltd are e Client, Contractor and Project Management Consultant, respectively. The project involves construction of 93 spans each of 32.926 m having 186 pre-stressed box girders. The girders are cast at yard, transported and launched at e different locations wi e help of launching girder. The cost of e project is Rs. 249.84 crores and e date of start and completion are 05 December 2013 and 04 April 2017, respectively. The progress so far is excellent and ahead of schedule by at least 2 mons. Out of 186 girders, 170 have already been cast and 158 placed in position. The overall progress is 92% and e project is anticipated to be completed by e end of February 2017. Launching and placing of girder
CMD's visit to Mongolia Mr. K. K. Kapila, CMD visited Mongolia from 12 to 15 August 2016. He visited and inspected e ongoing road and bridge construction activities of Western Regional Road Corridor Investment Program (WRRCIP) project of construction of 189.7 km road between KHOVD and ULAANBAISHINT (on border of Mongolia and Russia) in e Western Mongolian Region, being constructed rough four independent Contract Packages on 13 & 14 August 2016. Presently, e construction works are in progress in ree Contract Packages. CMD visited e entire road leng of all e ree Contract Packages and appreciated e works being carried out by e Contractors and e Consultant's supervision teams in is treacherous terrain and harsh climate at an altitude ranging from 1314 m above mean sea level (near Buyant River) to 2644 m above mean sea level (Buraat Pass) wi limited and restricted working period available for carrying out e works. CMD appreciated e beautiful landscape and e natural surroundings of e area wi lakes and snowy mountain peaks along e road alignment. CMD held review meetings wi e Contractors and Consultant's Supervision teams of each Contract Package separately. He reviewed e progress, hold-ups, obstructions and discussed ways to improve e progress. CMD advised e Contractors to follow e procedures of FIDIC Contract Conditions and e Engineer's instructions. He also advised e Consultant's supervision teams to guide e Contractors' staff wi a view to ensure at e project is completed wiin laid down time. He, however emphasized at speeding of progress should not be at e cost of quality of works. CMD's visit has certainly given a big boost to bo e Contractors and e Consultants.
