Little Harvard Havelock Campus- Summer Camps We re so excited for our first summer in our new location! Each week will include outdoor play as well as kid s choice art projects and games in addition to special themed activities and field trips. We play outside in all types of weather so we ask that each week your child be sent with sunscreen, sun hat, water bottle, and change of clothes. It may also be useful to send bug spray, a swimsuit and towel so we can play water games. Here is a general outline of what to expect each week of camp! Week 1 (June 26-30 2017)- Summer Kick Off! The first week of camp is designed to welcome campers to the center and get them comfortable in their new environment and with new friends and staff! Below are some highlights for the week: Welcome Banner All About Me Flags Raised Salt Tye-Dye Paintings Windsocks Pet Rocks Popsicle Stick Frames Come up with Classroom Guidelines as a group and make a poster to put up in the center Field day with chalk murals, bubbles and parachute games Human Ladder Elves, Wizards and Giants Rock, Paper, Scissors Evolution Rhythm Master Week 2 (July 3-7 2017)- Superheroes and Princesses This week encourages Campers to find their hidden superpowers and/or inner Princess through exciting games and activities! Campers are welcome to bring in their Superhero or Princess books and toys, with parental permission, to be used after snacks and at end of day. We plan to get moving in as many ways as possible while learning new skills and having a great time! This week campers will get out to explore the community and learn about nature, animals, and even how to use a compass! We re very excited to have

representatives from Nature NB come in with real fossilized tracks, scat and skulls. Below are some highlights for the week: Animal Track Salt Dough Animal Masks Twig Frames Nature Collages Jungle Slime Leaf Prints Animal Yoga Hike at Seaside Park Nature NB Visit: Tracks, Scat & Skulls Mini-Gardens Camouflage Park Ranger Swamp North by Northwest Week 5 (July 24-28 2017)- Art Attacks! This week is all about expressing creativity, and learning different art techniques and skills. Each day will have different project options and there will be lots of messy fun. We will be heading uptown to check out sculpture art, the SJ Art Center, have a tour, and even get a special surprise. Left Foot Art Pass the Picture Steal the Masterpiece Week 7 (July 31-Aug 4 2017)- Wacky Water Week Warmer weather is the perfect excuse to cool down with some wacky and exciting water games! For each day this week we ask that you send a change of clothes and/or a bathing suit, plus a towel with your child. If someone doesn t want to play water games we ll have lots of fun activities for them to do. Below are some highlights for the week: Water Gun Paintings Sea Sponge Prints Bubble Painting Underwater Aquariums Picnic at Bayshore Beach Leak-Proof Bag Science Experiment Walking Water Skittles Experiment Drip Drip Drop Sponge Tag Over Under Buckets Water Relays Week 8 (Aug 14-Aug 18 2017)- Discover Saint John Saint John is Canada s oldest incorporated city and over the last couple hundred years it s become a destination for foodies, surfers, families and travelers from all over the world. This week provides an opportunity for campers to experience the Port City in a new way and maybe find new favourite places to share with friends and family! We will even be visiting the NB Museum for Acadia Day! Below are some highlights for the week: Landmark Recreations Clay Sculptures Local Sports Team Posters Visit the NB Museum in Market Square Picnic on the Boardwalk

Martello Tower Field Day Old Number 2 Engine House Tour Ship to Shore Streets and Avenues 4 Corners Coast to Coast Week 9 (Aug 21-Aug 25 2017)- Carnival Week Summer is nearly over and it s a good time to celebrate! Campers will practice their circus skills, clown around, and have tons of fun.
