Montville Parks and Recreation April 2018 Bringing Montville Together Spring 2018 April SUMMER DAY CAMP INFORMATION Registration for our summer day camp will begin on May 7th at 8 am. At that time you may register online or in person at our offices in Town Hall. Full payment must be made at time of registration for each child. Checks, cash, debit and credit cards accepted (Visa, Master card, Discover). Camp is a seven week program, five days per week, 8 am to 4 pm. No before or after care provided. This year camp will be held at Tyl Middle School to accommodate the construction at the high school. Breakfast and lunch are provided. Cost per week is $60 per child, trips are optional and at various prices. Everyone is a Super Hero at our camp! Summer Camp is Seven Weeks June 26 th Aug 10 th Tentative dates begins the day after school is over Register for all the weeks you need! LOCATION: Tyl Middle School Registration will open on Monday, May 7 th for Summer Camp. Montville Residents Only. We will accept registrations weekdays from 8am 4pm at the Montville Parks & Recreation office or you can mail, stop in or register online. A receipt will be mail to you promptly. Camp is offered to MONTVILLE RESI- DENTS ONLY! Camp is offered to boys and girls ages 5 12. Children must be five years old by the start of camp. A birth certificate will be required as proof of age. Camp is held every Monday through Friday from 8am 4pm. The fee for camp is $60 per week per child. Fees must be paid in full at time of registration. Come every day or only on the days you want, you still pay the same price. We accept cash, checks or debit/credit cards as forms of payment. Camp will not be held on Wednesday, July 4 th in observance of the Independence Day Holiday. Field trips are offered for additional fees. If registering for any field trips the coinciding week (s) must be paid for otherwise the trip (s) will be removed from your household There is no before or after care. There is free breakfast and lunch available to all campers or children can bring their lunches to camp every day. There is no refrigeration for lunches. Water and juice are available for purchase each day for $1.00 in the cafeteria as is ice cream also for $1.00. Age groups fill up fast so don t delay in registering your child. Two courts, recreational play. Looking for Bands The Montville Carnival is looking for bands to play at the carnival to showcase their talents. Please contact the Parks & Recreation Office with a sample of your music. Take advantage of this opportunity to play in front of a live audience. Applications for Summer Camp Counselors Applications will be accepted through April 13th at our office. The application can be found on the Town s website. Interviews will take place the week of April 16-20th. Position requires applicants to work 40 hours per week for 8 weeks between mid-june to August 10th with only July 4th off.
Coed Adult Softball Anyone interested in playing coed softball this summer on Sunday afternoons at Camp Oakdale? Games are low key and recreational meaning no umpires, honor system, relaxed atmosphere and lots of laughs. Looking for complete teams or individuals to form a team. Must be 18 years old to play. Contact Pete Bushway with your team or as an individual and we will try to place you on a team that needs players. Drop in for some fun recreational volleyball. No need to register, its free Begins May 23rd at 6 pm. Choose up sides, play and have fun! No experience needed. Let s keep the fun going.

MOTHER S DAY CRAFT EVENT Saturday, May 5 th beginning promptly at noon Montville Community Center. This is a free event for Montville residents age 12 and under. There will be several different projects to choose from such as pasting mosaics onto pre-made designs, making a seashell necklace or decorate a tote bag to gift to Mom, Grandma or that special someone for Mother s Day. Registrations are limited to the first 50 children. We will be collecting from each participant a donation of personal items such as new socks, bars of soap, rolls of toilet paper, any hygiene items or individual nonperishable food snacks to be given to our local Social Services Department. Please contact the Parks and Recreation office to register for this event with your child(ren) s name, address, age and email address. Montville Parks and Recreation Department The Montville Recreation Department offers a range or classes, programs and special events for the entire community. Whether you re 2 or 102 you will find something you can take part in. The Department also schedules the fields at Camp Oakdale, the Large Pavilion and the classrooms at the Montville Community Center (previously Fair Oaks Community Center).
