Protection against the elements Timeless Collection Awnings To protect your awning from external elements, always retract your awning in rain, storm or windy situations. Failure to do this may damage the awning. To avoid pools of water laying on the fabric do not leave the awning open in the rain or storm conditions. Failure to do this may damage the awning, creating issues in fabric and operation performance of your awning. The information and advice included in this brochure has been prepared with care. However, we are unable to accept responsibility for the results of or any damage caused during operation. As with all textiles, Luxaflex fabrics are subject to some variations. Slight wrinkling, puckering or bowing is inherent in textile products and should be considered normal, acceptable quality. Precautions should be taken to reduce exposure to harsh environmental elements, such as salt air. Continuous exposure to these elements will accelerate the fabric deterioration. Additionally, there will be slight differences in pattern alignment from the fabric on the rails to the fabric of the shade, which do not detract from the product s appeal. Variations in colour and/or pattern irregularities are unique characteristics that contribute to the classic beauty of a shade. Somfy is a registered trademark of Somfy SAS. Welcome to the Luxaflex lifestyle Thank you for purchasing Luxaflex Timeless Collection Awnings. With proper operation and care your new awning will provide years of beauty and performance. Please review this instruction booklet thoroughly for operation and care information. Operation Standard & Automatic Lock Arm 1. Attach pull down stick to pull down ring. 2. Pull bottom rail outwards and downwards to the drop required. 3. Release pressure and allow the awning to lock off at the desired drop. 1. Re-attach pull down stick into the pull down ring. 2. Pull bottom rail downwards and hold against the guide rods. 3. Allow awning to slide upwards under control, until it reaches the top. 4. Arms will flip over and the bottom rail will rest against the roller under the hood. 5. Remove and store pull down stick.

System 2000 Pivot Arm - Rope Control 1. Undo rope from the cleat. 2. Hold rope with both hands and allow awning to roll out and down to desired drop. 3. Remove handle and store in a safe place. 1. Insert crank handle into the tape winch box. 2. Wind in an anti-clockwise direction until awning has reached its height. 3. TIP FOR ALL FABRIC AWNINGS If not using the awning fabric for extended periods, tuck valance away using the pull down stick, under the headbox. This extends the life of the fabric and keeps it clean. Unclip snaphooks from the saddles ensuring you have a good hold on the bottom rail. 2. Allow awning to retract under control. Depending on the height you need to attach the pull down stick into the ring on the bottom rail. Motorised operation For motorisation information, please refer to the SOMFY and Photon One Solar Motor product brochure that is supplied with your awning.

Care and cleaning Fabric Awnings The fabric used on your awning is manufactured from the highest quality materials and will give many years of outstanding service if cared for appropriately. Avoid rolling up the fabric awning when wet. Roll up style awning should be retracted in rain or storm conditions. If rolled up wet, the awning should be extended and allowed to dry once the weather clears. Failure to take this action will encourage algae, mildew or other fungal growth, that will not be covered under your product warranty. Avoid pools of water laying on the fabric or leaving the awning extended in the rain, as failure to do so will accelerate some leaching of chemicals, reducing mould and mildew resistance. Do not allow dirt, dust, grime, leaf litter and bird matter to remain on the fabric (as this provides a perfect medium for bacteria to proliferate). Cleaning should be carried out by light sponging with warm water and a mild natural soap. Rinse thoroughly to remove soap. Do not scrub the fabric. Hosing the fabric occasionally on a hot day is also beneficial to the appearance of the fabric as it removes dust and grime and minimises the development of algae, mildew or other fungal growth. Do not use soap powder, concentrated soaps or detergents, nor cleaning fluids. Keep insecticides, solvents and fuels away from the awning. Occasionally extend the awning fully down to even out the material, particularly if the awning is usually set in one position. Should mildew spots develop on the fabric, there are numerous products available at outdoor/camping stores that can be used. Mildew removers are primarily bleach-based and manufacturer s instructions must be followed. In applying these products the following general tips are given: a) Treat the awning in situ i.e. as it sits fully rolled down. b) Apply the solution to the fabric liberally. (A squeezy sponge mop is ideal). Care should be taken to protect gardens from the solution run off, which will kill plants it comes in contact with. c) A second application of mildew remover may be applied if desired. However, obstinate mildew stains may remain. d) ALWAYS follow steps (a), (b) and (c) with a water proofing application. Hunter Douglas canvas is a product which contains cotton. The presence of cotton knots is to be expected due to the nature of the material. In tropical Australian weather conditions some shrinkage over time is normal. Hunter Douglas canvas is tested for mould and mildew which are forms of fungal growth (ie. living organisms). There are millions of types of these growths but the following key facts are the principal points to remember: a) Australian Standards require we test for the four most common types. These constitute 99% of known common organisms. b) Hunter Douglas tests for the 10 most common types which account for 99.99% of the known types of organisms. Awnings exposed to coastal environments and salt spray should be washed down regularly. Salt build up can be very corrosive and salt damage is not covered under your product warranty. Metal Awnings Luxaflex Metal Louvres and Fixed Metal Awnings are coated for enhanced durability and protection against environmental effects. They are relatively low maintenance, but cleaning your awnings from time to time will help to keep them looking new. Simply hose down the awning and wipe it with a mild solution of natural soap in lukewarm water.
