Program Structure and Divisions Day Camp Structure. Away Camp Feel. Camp Blue Sky is divided into four divisions according to the ages of our campers. While each division is involved in our traditional day camp program, all of our activities are designed specifically to meet the developmental needs of the campers in each division. Within each division, campers are put into small groups based on age and gender. Every group of campers has a devoted counselor who is there to guide them each and every day of the summer. Each day at Camp Blue Sky includes new excitement and experiences. Throughout the summer, daily themes, special events and field trips supplement the programs of each division. Your children will be thrilled this summer. The Pee Wee Division For Campers Age 4. This division offers campers their first opportunity to discover the fun of a traditional summer camp. Our young campers will experience a modified version of the big camp in a safe and smaller setting. Activities are designed for the campers to work in groups and incorporate creative thinking, teamwork and leadership. The Junior Division For Campers Ages 5 and 6. This division will get a safe and nurturing introduction into the world of Summer Camp. Activities will be designed to reinforce positive behaviors and capture the natural curiosity of children at this age. The Middle Division For Campers Ages 7 to 9. This division will harness the energy and enthusiasm typical of campers this age and challenge each child to experience success. Team building is a priority for the activities planned for this division. The Senior Division For Campers Ages 10 to 13. The senior division is for children 10 to 13. Recognizing that children this age need activities and time frames that depart from the traditional day camp setting, the senior division program is designed to foster independence. Activities include a wide variety of field trips, outreach opportunities and service to the community. Fast and Furious All Day, Every Day.
A Typical Day at Camp Blue Sky Each camp day is distinguished by a morning and afternoon program. During our regular morning program, each group of campers has a weekly schedule and follows a structured rotation of activities. During the morning program, campers will be exposed to each of our core camp activities at least twice per week. The afternoon program is designed to allow all of our campers to take part in planning a part of their own day. Each day, for each division, a variety of age appropriate and diverse activities are planned. By design, campers will not know the options of activities planned for the afternoon until they arrive that day at Camp Blue Sky. Each morning, working with their counselors, the campers will make their specific choice for that day.
