A cruise on board a ship that has all the style of the ancient caique, a type of boat that is a legend itself, just as it is the sea under your feet. It is not just a matter of watching and observing, but a truly active journey intended to combine navigation and relaxing with cycling along the narrow streets of Capri, Pompeii, Procida, Ischia, and Sorrento. Characteristics of the route The daily stage is between 25 and 35 km and there is all the time to do the bike tour and to cycle with tranquility all along the itinerary. However, this tour is recommended to people who have a good experience in biking tours. Not suitable for children under 12 years old. Not suitable for beginners. Please expect several ups and downs. A day by day account of the route Day 1: Arrival in Castellammare di Stabia Embarkation at 18.00 and accomodation on board; Day 2: to Pompeji (approx. 14 km) The biggest open-air archaeological site in the world; Day 3: Sorrento - Positiano - Amalfi (approx. 34 km) Along the Sorrento Coast up to Positano; Day 4: to Cetara (approx. 27km) + alt. Ravello (approx. 37km) Crossing the villages of Minori, Maiori and Cetara; Day 5: Capri Visit the island on food and enjoy the wonderful view; Day 6: to Ischia (approx. 18 km) Accopagnated by the flavors of the Mediterranean Sea; Day 7: Porcida and Solfatara volcan Walking visit of the town, transfer to reach the Solfatara site; Day 8: Departure Disembarkation at 09.00;
detailed routing Day 1: Arrival at the Marina di Castellamare di Stabia Embarkation at 18.00 at the Marina di Castellammare di Stabia (NA), accommodation on board, welcome drink, dinner and presentation of the program. Night in the port of Castellammare di Stabia. Day 2: Cycle trip to Pompeji (approx. 14 km) Cycle trip to Pompeii and visit of Pompeii and the Villa dei Misteri. It is the biggest open-air archaeological site of the world. Return journey to the Marina di Castellammare and departure with the caique towards Sorrento. Walking visit of the town and return to the boat. Overnight on board at the Marina di Cassano in roadstead or in the port in case of bad weather conditions. Day 3: Sorrento - Positano - Amalfi (approx. 34 km) In the morning departure by bike along the Sorrento coast. You cross Passo San Pietro (St. Peter s pass) and you enter in the Amalfi coast, where you will cycle along the wonderful road overlooking the sea up to Positano. After Positano you continue towards Amalfi, the most powerful Mariner Republic at the end of X century. Return to the gulet. You are free for dinner. Overnight in port in Amalfi. Day 4: Amalfi Minori Vietri Cetara + alternative Ravello (approx. 27 or 37 km) From Amalfi you continue your cycle tour along the coast, cycling on the coastal road with some ups and downs overlooking the sea, crossing the villages of Minori, Maiori and Cetara. It is possible to make a deviation and go up towards Ravello. From the village dominating the sea from 300 mt. above sea level, you can enjoy a view beyond the Gulf of Salerno and up to the Cilento mountains. You return on the road along the coast to finally reach Vietri. You come back on board. Dinner and overnight in the small fishing port of Cetara. Day 5: Capri Navigation to Capri and disembarkation with the tender in Marina Piccola (Capri). You visit the Island on foot, you reach the village of Capri with its famous piazzetta and continue to the Faraglioni. From above the cliff you can enjoy a wonderful panorama on the Gulf of Naples dominated by the Vesuvius. In the afternoon embarkation and navigation to Ischia. Overnight in the port of Ischia Casamicciola. Day 6: Ischia (approx. 18 km) Cycling from Ischia port you will cross by bike the west part of the island among the scents and flavors of the Mediterranean sea, crossing little villages. Once you reach the thermal village of S. Angelo, embarkation and overnight in port in Ischia Sant Angelo. Day 7: Procida and Solfatara volcan We sail up to Procida, walking visit of the town and San Michele Abbey. Return to the boat to continue to Pozzuoli, in the bay of Naples. Transfer to reach the Solfatara site, a shallow volcanic crater part of the Campi Flegrei volcanic area. It is a dormant volcano, which still emits jets of steam with sulfurous fumes. The name comes from the Latin, Sulpha terra, land of sulfur, or sulfur earth. After the visit, return of foot to the boat. Navigation up to Marina di Castellammare di Stabia (in alternative, we reach Castellammare with public means). Overnight in the Marina of Castellammare di Stabia. Day 8: Departure Disembarkation at 09.00. The great care in the interiors and external spaces provide big charm and extreme comfort, in order to enjoy a wonderful holiday. The caique gathers 5 cabins (1 will be used by the guide): 3 double cabins and 2 twin cabins, and can accommodate up to 10 people. They all have air conditioning with independent regulation, LCD TV and Hi-Fi, a little wardrobe, enough space to place bags and luggage (please exclude rigid luggage), a safe and portholes that can be opened.
