Additions, Amendments and Deletions to the 2018 rates manual include: BOTSWANA JANUARY 2018 Green and Shoulder Seasons specials grid added to page 3 of this document. The name of Duba Expedition Camp has been amended to Duba Explorers Camp when it reopens in 2018. Duba Explorers Camp s expected reopening date is 1 June 2018 and no longer 1 April 2018 as originally planned. FEBRUARY 2018 There will be a new 2 bedroom Family tent available at Selinda Explorers Camp as from 1 May 2018. There continues to be only 4 tents at Selinda Explorers with the one tent being the new family tent. Due to unforseen circumstances Selinda Pioneers Camp will not open from 01 December 2018. It has been removed as an available camp from our reservations sheets. Selinda Camp will close 01 November 2018 for a complete rebuild and will open on the 1st of May 2019. Great Plains Life with Elephants Tour has been to the helicopter rates page. MARCH 2018 As from the end of 2018, Selinda Explorers Camp in the Selinda Reserve will remain open year round and no longer close. Laundry facilities will be available at Selinda Explorers Camp as from mid May 2018. MAY 2018 Selinda Explorers Camp - Validity period for 01 November - 19 December 2018 has been corrected and updated. Child age limits have been updated at Selinda Explorers Camp and Duba Plains Camp. KENYA JANUARY 2018 Private wildlife viewing vehicle hire is now available at Mara Expedition Camp. ZIMBABWE JANUARY 2018 Rates for Mpala Jena in the Zambezi National Park of Victoria Falls and our Greater Mana Expedition experience in the private Sapi Concession adjacent to the Mana Pools National Park are now included. The Greater Mana Expedition scheduled departures start 01 May 2018. Mpala Jena Camp and Mpala Jena Suite are scheduled to open on the 1st of July 2018. Guests are able to confirm a helicopter transfer from Victoria Falls town after a road transfer from Victoria Falls International Airport. This is an additional cost and would take about 40 minutes. GENERAL RELATED TO ALL RATES IN THIS MANUAL All city services and ground transfers, conservation/park fees, levies, and air transfers are excluded unless otherwise noted. Standard Terms and Conditions apply - a copy of which is available on request. Rates are subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances such as, but not limited to, currency fluctuations, fuel levies, surcharges, government decree, or items of this nature. Comprehensive medical and travel insurance (including temporary Flying Doctor Membership where relevant in Kenya) is required for all guests travelling to the properties and is a condition of travel and stay. GREAT PLAINS CONSERVATION These general guidelines apply to all of the Great Plains Conservation properties: Families at all our camps will be on shared activities with other guests. The minimum age requirement for walking and canoeing is 12 years in all camps except Selinda Explorers Camp where activities will be adjusted for children 10 years and older. Children 15 and younger must share a room with at least one adult. On the Selinda Adventure Trail, children 10 to 13 years (inclusive) are welcome on departures that have been booked on a private basis. This allows the guide and crew to adjust the daily walking and/or canoeing distances to suit the family s needs. The child rate is based on a child sharing with two adults (except ol Donyo Lodge, Mara Plains and Selinda Camp family rooms where is up to two children sharing with two adults). If this configuration is not possible, then it may be that the child will be charged the applicable adult rate. We evaluate each booking to ensure we deliver the best possible safari experience to all our guests in camp. In some cases, we may need to turn away a family booking in order to do so; we will do everything possible to try and avoid that outcome. Our camps are located in wildlife zones that are not fenced in and there are no child care facilities in our camps. Parents/guardians must be watchful of and responsible for their children at all times. Each of our camps has a unique child policy based on the size, location and structure of the camp.
