Tree Houses & Family Houses Named after David Livingstone s faithful companions Sussi and Chuma, the lodge s guest rooms consist of twelve air-conditioned Sussi tree houses, connected by wooden walkways and all with superb views over the river. There are also two private Chuma houses ideal for families or groups - each with two bedrooms, their own dining areas and decks with plunge pools, as well as a private chef and house staff. The Victoria Falls First described to Europe by explorer David Livingstone and known locally as the Mosi-oa-Tunya, or the Smoke that Thunders, for much of the year the Victoria Falls are accompanied by a cloud of brilliant spray where the mile wide Upper Zambezi falls 300 feet into the Lower Zambezi. A walking tour of the Falls is included as part of your stay. There are also countless opportunities for adrenalin activities. Page 4 of 8
Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park Mosi-Oa-Tunya is one of Zambia s smallest parks. Elephant, buffalo, zebra, impala, even white rhino are found here. Daily game drives take place in the morning and afternoon. Walking safaris are also available from the lodge. For any keen anglers, fishing on the Zambezi can be arranged. What better way to end the day than with a sundowner cruise on the Zambezi, combining grade two rapids with quieter backwaters for a thrilling ride. Page 5 of 8
Community & Sustainability Nakatindi Village, located approximately five kilometres from Sanctuary Sussi & Chuma, is our key philanthropy project in Zambia. This village filled with children playing and people getting on with their regular day to day lives comprises of around 3,000 people who live in simple mud and brick houses.
