Public Explanation of Passenger Directed Vehicle (PDV) Application PT Board Form 6 About this Form: This form is required when you making an application for a new or amended licence or to add vehicles to your fleet.. This form is not required for a rate change application. Information on this form will be published as part of your application summary. Please answer each question in one or two sentences. 1. Why are you making this application? (Tell us if there is anything unique about your application. For example, is it a specialty service? Is there a target market? Etc.) Due to an increasing number of requests from customers that have a party of 5 to 6 passengers, Royal City Taxi is requesting that we have an increase from 5 to 11 vehicles that are licensed by the PTB for flip seats. There are several reasons why RCT needs flip seats for all its accessible vehicles. Over the past two years, requests for 5 and 6 passenger vehicles has increased substantially. There are many occasions where customers are requesting a vehicle that can accommodate a larger family unit that has a family member in a wheelchair or scooter. A notable emerging market trend is students traveling in groups to events for safety reasons. 2. How will your application affect transportation services in your community? Generally such requests result in lengthy waits due to the small percentage of our fleet which can fulfill these requests. Granting of flip seats for all of our accessible taxis offers the public enhanced options, both at the airport and in town. This form has been prepared by the applicant for public information.
