Don t forget that the Rotary Club of Kwinana Swimarathon is fast approaching on February 21 st please get behind Genevieve and make this a show case event 7. Also the District Conference is also going to be on us before we know it, Wendy Cooper is working on a package where we all stay together at the Discovery Caravan Park in Bunbury, either in Cabins or Caravans/Tents, why not make this a Club social event? However time is running out and Wendy needs to know numbers to confirm the accommodation. Do our own thing during the day Conference or any other terrorist activity s then meet up at night for club functions or dinners International The international Committee has carried out the following. Reports for the September / October project work carried out in Timor-Leste have been submitted and accepted by RAWCS & Foundation We now have our own Bank account in Dili and all surplus funds held in Dili have been transferred into this account Received a letter from district stating that a district grant is reserved for the group on the condition that we meet the criteria for gaining another Global Grant. I have completed the estimate for two of the three projects, and will be working with Tom Hoyer on Wednesday 13 th January to complete the estimate for the remaining project. Then I will complete the application for the Global Grant and Submit A meeting was held with Brian Eddy and Graham Hunter and it was confirmed that the first 100-200 surplus school computers are available, Space in a container leaving Bentley Curtin for Dili has been reserved for March 2016 I will be the Guest speaker at the Margret River Lions club on Thursday 14 th January 2016, thus enabling me to update them on the great work they achieved Club Service: PP Mike Nella PE Mike Nella together with PP Stephen Castelli and Rotaractor Callan Tree are on site in Jakarta working on the school project. Polio This Week 13 th January 2016 This week India marks five years without reporting a single case of wild polio, a remarkable achievement. Today, lessons learned in India and Nigeria are being used to drive progress in the last two polio-endemic countries: Pakistan and Afghanistan There are three months to go until the globally synchronized switch from the trivalent to bivalent oral polio vaccine. This will be an important milestone in achieving a polio-free world.
