ski touring volcanoes chile DATE 2018 - Individual participants: 16th to 29th September 2018 30th september to 13th October 2018

Group of 3 people or more, notify us your preferred dates. *Price per person based on a private group of 5 people. DESCRIPTION Between the Pacific Ocean and the Andes, the active volcanoes of southern Chile make up part of the famous "Ring of Fire". Ten volcanoes can easily be skied from their summits in an area covering 500 km of the spectacular Araucania and Great Lakes regions. At the foot of the volcanoes and in the middle of the spectacular monkey puzzle forests, lie several small ski resorts giving easy and rapid access to the snow. From these resorts, climbing about 1300mts per day, we can summit 5 or 6 of these volcanoes depending on weather conditions and how keen the group is. Good quality spring snow covers the slopes and there may even be some powder depending on conditions. Volcano skiing is characterised by steep slopes near the summit, gradually flattening out as they reach the base. The conical shape of the volcano allows an optimal descent following the sun around for unmissable snow conditions. HOTELS AND HUTS After several visits in these areas, we have selected three comfortable hotels, well-deserved after skinning all these volcanoes. The experience of sleeping in a tree hut of the biological reserve of Huilo-huilo is definitely a highlight in this trip. HOTEL SUIZANDINA: Managed by a Chilian-Swiss couple. The location is ideal to hike 3 volcanoes. The hotel rooms in the main house are kept in wood and thus have a cosy atmosphere. Central heating assures a comfortable temperature at any time. The sanitary istallations and general cleanliness satisfy even the most demanding guest.??in the Main House you can choose between 5 rooms, each with a private bathroom, from 1 to 4 persons. HOSTERIA GERONIMO: We have been using this hotel for many years, Joanna makes us feel at home! It s a quiet location close to downtown Pucon. The rooms are rather small but perfectly clean, well maintained. TREE HUTS: Located inside the Biological reserve of Huilo-huilo, there offers tiny little tree huts, comfortable and well-heated, just above «la Crianca» the deer reserve! MI LODGE: At the bottom of the Nevado glacier, nested in the beautifull Shangri-Lah valley, the lodge offer great meals, hot tubes and a indoor swimming pool to relax after skiing.
