Solmar V luxury liveaboard vessel Photo by Jeronimo Seacology project on Guadalupe Island Guadalupe Island is so dry and isolated that the local fishing community struggles to have enough water supply throughout the year. Seacology helped the islanders set up a desalination plant, which is now in operation. In exchange, the community created a 1,200-acre marine reserve around the island. This 116-foot liveaboard offers a comfortable and elegent home for our four nights at sea. Its interior is outfitted in brass, rich mahogany, and granite table tops, and its floors are completely carpeted. The salon comfortably seats all of our guests and offers a large-screen HDTV and DVD player and stereo system. Each stateroom features air conditioning, private bathrooms, Pillow-top mattresses, and a TV/DVD player. Photos courtesy of Solmar V
