After obtaining your visa and clearing customs you will be met by Safari Legacy transferred to the Serena Lake Duluti Lodge for overnight. Day 3 June 20 - Arusha / Fly to the Serengeti National Park This morning we fly to one of the grandest settings in all of Africa, the Serengeti Plains. One of the most spectacular of Tanzania s national parks, the Serengeti is home to more than two million large mammals, representing the largest concentration of its kind on Earth. The Serengeti gets its name from the Maasai word meaning endless plain. With nearly 6,000 square miles of grassy plains, kopjes, woodlands and riverine forests, the Serengeti is best known for its big predators, including cheetah and leopard, as well as large prides of lion and clans of hyena. Upon arrival we enjoy our first game drive en-route to our lodge arriving in time for lunch. This afternoon we explore the Serengeti until we return for dinner and overnight at the Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge. Overnight Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge. (BLD) Day 4 June 21 - Serengeti National Park Today we enjoy morning and afternoon game drives as we explore the Serengeti National Park. Overnight Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge. (BLD) Day 5 June 22 - Olduvai Gorge and Maasai Village / Ngorongoro Highlands After breakfast we depart the expansive plains of the Serengeti and navigate southeast to the Ngorongoro Crater, unrivaled as a wildlife spectacle. After a brief stop to gaze into the massive geophysical structure, we continue around the crater s rim and descend its eastern slope to one of the most important prehistoric archaeological sites on Earth, the Olduvai Gorge. It was here, in 1959, that Mary Leakey discovered fossilized hominid bone fragments dating back 1.75 million years. Continued research unearthed several other significant finds resulting in Olduvai s recognition as the cradle of mankind. After hearing a lecture and visiting the museum we visit a local Maasai Village where we have a unique opportunity to interact with the Maasai and learn about their way of life. Continue to the Ngorongoro Highlands where we overnight at the Ngorongoro Serena Lodge overlooking the craters rim. (BLD) Day 6 June 23 - Ngorongoro Crater Rise early this morning and descend into the Ngorongoro Crater. Earth s largest unbroken caldera, its towering crater walls encircle and assortment of soda lakes amidst lush savannah and acacia forests a veritable Garden of Eden. The abundance of food and water provides a permanent home to over 30,000 large mammals such as hyena, Thomson s gazelle, bull elephant, zebra lion and African buffalo. Rarer sightings include cheetah and a natural population of black rhino. Enjoy a full day exploring the crater with picnic lunch. Overnight Ngorongoro Serena Lodge. (BPLD)

Day 7 June 24 - Ngorongoro Highlands / Arusha / Cultural Heritage / Nairobi, Kenya This morning we return to Arusha arriving in time for lunch and shopping opportunities at the Cultural Heritage Centre and Museum. After lunch we continue our journey to Nairobi via the Namanga border. (A visa to Kenya will be needed and can be obtained here at the border or online via E-Visa) On arrival in Nairobi in the late afternoon we check into our hotel for dinner and overnight. Overnight Nairobi Serena Hotel. (BLD) Day 8 June 25 - Nairobi Giraffe Centre / Daphne Sheldrick s Animal Orphanage / Karen Blixen Home / Sweetwater s Game Reserve Ol Pejeta Conservancy After breakfast we enjoy a visit to the Giraffe Center and the Daphne Sheldrick Animal Orphanage. For over 25 years, from 1955 until 1976, Kenyan born Daphne Sheldrick lived and worked alongside her late husband, David, the famous founder Warden of Kenya's giant Tsavo National Park. During that time she raised and rehabilitated back into the wild community orphans of misfortune from many different wild species, including elephants and rhinos. After our visit, we enjoy lunch at the Karen Blixen Home and Museum. This afternoon we travel to Sweetwater s Tented Camp located in the Ol Pejeta Conservancy. A 90,000 acre private wildlife conservancy, Ol Pejeta is situated on the equator, in Kenya s Laikipia District, between the foothills of the Aberdares and the magnificent snow-capped Mount Kenya. The Ol Pejeta Conservancy boasts an astounding variety of animals, including the Big Five (endangered black rhino, leopard, elephant, buffalo and lion), grevy s zebra, Jackson s hartebeest, cheetah and chimpanzee. Overnight Sweetwater s Tented Camp. (BLD) Day 9 June 26 - Sweetwater s / Ol Pejeta Conservancy Jane Goodall Chimpanzee Sanctuary Today we enjoy a full day exploring the Ol Pejeta Conservancy with morning and afternoon game drives and a visit to the Jane Goodall Chimpanzee Sanctuary.
