I T I N E R A R Y DAY 1 - HANOI Hanoi Arrival Begin your journey by embarking on your international flight to Hanoi. DAY 2 - HANOI Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Today you will behold the revered Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, which is said to be the most important site in all of Vietnam. It is inside the Mausoleum that Ho Chi Minh s body is preserved and displayed, and where many Vietnamese come to pay their respects. One Pillar Pagoda Visit the beautiful One Pillar Pagoda an historic Buddhist temple built in 1049 by Emperor Ly Thai Tong. The wooden pagoda was erected on a single stone pillar in the middle of a lotus pond, inspired by a lotus flower that appeared in the emperor s dreams. Temple of Literature Discover the magnificent Temple of Literature, the first national University in Vietnam. The temple was established in 1070 in dedication to Confucius, sages and scholars and is featured on the back of the 100,000 Vietnamese dong banknote. Rickshaw Old Quarter Embark on a rickshaw ride around Hanoi s old quarter and appreciate the local lifestyles as you wind through Hanoi s streets. Here you will appreciate the aging French colonial architecture and well-preserved shop houses. You will continue past many of Hanoi s main attractions, appreciating the majestic Hoan Kiem Lake, Hanoi Opera House, Ba Dinh Square and the Bach Ma temple.

At its height, the tunnel system stretched over 250km from Saigon to the Cambodian border and was three levels deep. The network included innumerable trap doors, specially constructed living areas, storage facilities, weapons factories, field hospitals, command centres and kitchens. Today the remaining tunnels have become a major tourist attraction and give visitors a feel for what life was like during the Vietnam War. Ho Chi Minh Departure Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before transferring to Tan Son Nhat International Airport for your scheduled flight home (you will arrive home the following day) or continue on to Cambodia with us. Ta Prohm Visit Ta Prohm, the only temple to retain its natural configuration, and is an example of how most of the temples of Angkor looked like at the time of discovery.
