Relevant Results, January, 2014 International Visitors to México According to what has been reported by Banco de México, the number of international tourists to Mexico totaled 2.3 million in the first month of 2014, topping any previous January month in history. Furthermore, the income of foreign currency from international visitors to México also reached a historic top in January 2014, totaling USD 442 million, amount not recorded in any previous month of January. During January 2014, the tourist balance had a positive amount, reaching 719.3 USD million, amount higher than the previous record reached in a month of January (2008). The number of international visitors increased 1.3% with respect to January, 2013, reaching 6.6 million of visitors. Hotel Activity Domestic Tourism Occupancy rate on major tourist centers was 2.07% higher than that of January, 2013, reaching 54.18%. The arrival of domestic tourist to hotel rooms during the first month of 2014 was 5.2 million people; this represents 7.9% higher than during the first month of 2013. 1

Relevant Results, January, 2014 Air Transportation The number of passengers traveling by air increased 11.5% in January, 2014 in comparison to 2013 totaling 4.1 million airplane passengers. The arrival of passengers on domestic flights exceeded 2.5 million people; this represents an increase of 11.7% in comparison to January, 2013. Also, the number of domestic flights increased 2.4%. 1.6 million passengers were recorded on internationals flights, which is 11.2% more than in January, 2013. Besides this result, the number of flights recorded was higher in the same period of time (5.8%). As for the number of arrivals to Mexico by air, passengers in January, 2014 were, according to their nationality, the following: Americans 47% (the most numerous group), Canadians 22.0%, while from Latin America and the Caribbean, Brazilians reached 2.6%. According to the U.S. Department of Commerce, from January to December, 2013, Mexico is the country that receives most Americans traveling overseas by air, totaling 15.94% of the Americans flying outside the U.S. Maritime Transport The ports that received most of the passengers arriving by cruise in January, 2014 are the following: Cozumel (338,060), Ensenada (57,351) y Majahual (47,315); this means an increase of 56% in comparison to January, 2013 at the Ensenada port. On the other hand, the total of arrivals increased 5.2% in the same period of time. 2

The most arrivals of tourist nationality from Latin America and the Caribbean were those coming from Brazil, increasing in 5.8%. By regions, it is exceeded by Europe (29.25%) and the Caribbean (16.78%), however, it is the one which increased the most during the January through December 2013 period in comparison to the same period in 2012, having an increase of 7.7% followed by Canada with an increase of 4.9%. 8
