GENERAL INFORMATION KPC is located in Chelsea, AL in Shelby County, it was established in 1976 and has 600 acres with a 45 acre lake. Facilities: Chickasaw: All-season indoor bunk style, w/kitchen (Capacity 40) Creek: All-season indoor bunk style, w/kitchen (Capacity 60) Choctaw: All-season indoor bunk style (Capacity 12) Cherokee: Shelter with bathroom and shower Osonee Cook shelter Conference Center: Industrial kitchen, conference/dining areas (Capacity dining hall 165, meeting room 60) Nature Hut Pool Storm shelter Boat House Handicap Accessible Open to the Public 2
CHICKASAW UNIT Chickasaw is built into the hill. It is an all-season unit that sleeps 40. There are 10 rooms that sleep 4 each. Bathroom has 3 sinks, stalls and showers Each room has a small sitting/storage area. Separate restroom (no shower) 3
CHICKASAW UNIT (con t) Deck attached to main building. Dining/meeting area attached to the lodging areas. Kitchen has refrigerator, stove, microwave and coffee pot. There is a fire pit with the unit. 4
CREEK UNIT Unit is all-season and sleeps 60. There are 6 showers, stalls and sinks in the attached bathhouse. Kitchen has refrigerator, stove, and microwave There are 10 rooms that sleep 6 each. Dining/Meeting area Outside deck area 5
CHOCTAW UNIT Unit has 3 outdoor cabins to sleep 12 Bathhouse Restroom facilities Cook shelter with refrigerator and grill Each cabin sleeps up to 4 6
CHEROKEE SHELTER Outdoor picnic area with grill and water (shown below) Indoor restroom facilities. 7
OSONNEE SHELTER The Osonnee shelter has two fire pits, a grill, refrigerator, ice machine, microwave and sinks. It is both heated and cooled year-round. The shelter is located adjacent to the ball field area and pool. Bridge to Seminole Island, just steps from Osonnee Shelter. 8

ITEMS COMMONLY NEEDED AT CAMP AND TROOP PROJECTS WISHLIST Cleaning Supplies- any and all types of bathroom and kitchen cleaners Hand soap Dish soap Bleach Clorox Wipes Mops and Brooms Gently used furniture LED light bulbs Batteries- 9V Redwood Stain Paper towels Trash bags (all sizes) SERVICE PROJECTS Painting Landscape work Cleaning of cabins and bath houses Trail clearing Staining Monetary donations for KPC maintenance can be designated through a contribution to GSNCA. 13
WHAT TO EXPECT AT CAMP You will be met at the camp by a Caretaker, and given a check-in sheet and emergency information. Please have your Troop Roster, emailed with your confirmation information, with you. If you are staying in one of the all-season lodges these buildings have A/C and heat and restroom/shower facilities in them. All of the lodges have an outdoor fire pit with picnic tables and also an indoor kitchen with a refrigerator, microwave, coffee pots and a stove (Choctaw does not have a stove). Ice is available at Osonnee shelter No matter what unit you rent, have everyone bring a twin size fitted sheet to cover the mattresses Firewood is available at camp LEAVE A PLACE BETTER THAN YOU FOUND IT!- Ensure the girls have cleaned up every room/cabin that was used, including the Cook Shelters and Bath houses and you sweep and mop the floors. If you have rented the Conference Center the floors and tables need to be cleaned as well. 14
