SPECIAL MILITARY ACTIVE RECREATIONAL TRAVELERS In This Issue...... From the President, Susan Fortune Greetings from the South Pole! No? Not at the South Pole? Sure feels like the South Pole. Sure looks like the South Pole. Are you sure we re not at the South Pole??? As I sit here wrapped in my afghan sipping a cup of hot chocolate, I m thinking of how nice the weather was in Bushnell and what an awesome day we had participating in Wreaths Across America. On Saturday, December 16th, 1,565,000 wreaths were laid at 1,422 participating locations, with 27,000 wreaths laid at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell. And - just a reminder: Along with ringing in the New Year, please remember it s that time of year again - time to pay your Sunshine Chapter dues (and of course, your National dues). A year or two ago we lowered our Sunshine Chapter dues to only $5.00 per person. Such a bargain for all the fun and camaraderie we have! So, if you haven t had a chance yet, please take a minute and drop your check in the mail to: Cathy Korvas 5217 Sprint Circle Viera, FL 32955 Flint River RV Park in Bainbridge, GA is our February destination. We ll be hosted by the incomparable team of Hodge & Colt. Also on one evening the RV Park is hosting a casual dinner to which we re invited. It s important that you get your reservation in as soon as possible so the park manager will know how many to plan on for dinner. There s a rumor going around that there are several wineries nearby that have tasting opportunities! Hoping everyone had safe and happy holidays. See you all in Bainbridge!
