The weather, generally hot and humid, is a transition between the equatorial and tropical climate. Equatorial along the coasts, it turns semi-arid in the extreme north. In general, the country experiences significant variations in temperature between the north and the south, and also all year round according to seasons, with average temperatures around 28 C. Two major climate zones are side by side: the equatorial climate and the more or less dry savannah tropical climate. The subequatorial climate is characterized low amplitude temperatures (25 C to 30 C), high humidity rate (80 to 90%) and huge rainfalls, which in Abidjan reaches 1,766 mm 3 and 2,129 mm 3 in Tabou. There are two dry seasons and two rainy seasons. The big hot and dry season is interspersed by a few rains and goes from December to April. The small dry season is from August to September. As for the rain, the big season goes from May to July and the small season from October to November. Therefore, you are advised to have your umbrella for possible rainfall during the month of July. The dry savannah tropical climate covers the Northern forest part of the South and Southern part of the savannah region. High amplitude temperatures range between 14 C and 33 C, with relative humidity between 60% to 70% and annual rainfall of 1,200 mm 3 in Bouaké. There also four seasons in this region: two dry seasons, from November to March and from July to August and two rainy seasons, from June to October and March to May. The dry savannah weather concerns the savannah region mainly. Daily and annual temperatures are relatively high, around 20 C, with humidity rate lower than the south, varying between 40% to 50%. 5
