CHRISTCHURCH - FRANZ JOSEF DAY 1 Your adventure kicks off at 11am where we depart from Christchurch International Airport heading for the dizzying heights of Arthur s Pass and the stunning snow-capped Southern Alps. Then we ll stop off at beautiful Hokitika and explore the world famous Hokitika Gorge. Before cruising over the spectacular scenery and arriving at Franz Josef the gateway to Glacier country. It wouldn t be a Wild Kiwi tour without seeing one, so time permitting, we ll pop into The National Kiwi Centre after arrival. FRANZ JOSEF GLACIER DAY 2 After breakfast, it s ice o clock. We ll hit the Franz Josef and Fox glaciers which you can hike, helicopter, or both. These stunning formations made over thousands of years, or as Maori legend has it, from a lost lover s tears, will have you weeping with joy. The hue, changes from turquoise to deepest blue as you hover above, or hike across them. Afterwards, celebrate your cool adventure with some ice in your drink. MAP KEY WILD KIWI ITINERARY FRANZ JOSEF - QUEENSTOWN DAY 3 After breakfast, prepare to be dazzled as we take one of the most spectacular natural drives in the world. Travelling along mile after mile of rugged coastline, we hit the Haast Pass where ancient rainforests, icy blue glaciers and booming waterfalls collide to create a stunning kaleidoscope of natural scenery. Catch your breath we ve just landed in beautiful Queenstown the adrenaline capital of New Zealand. QUEENSTOWN FREE DAY DAY 4 Action awaits. Go off-piste and make up your own itinerary. Choose from adrenaline pumping activities like bungee jumping, canyon swings or quad biking. Maybe hit the trails for a mountain hike, or cruise around the fiord at UNESCO-listed Milford Sound. Here, mountains rise, dolphins leap, whales blow and water tumbles. After all that, kick back with a beer, drop into a party or devour NZ s most famous burger the Fergburger! QUEENSTOWN & WANAKA DAY 5 THE SOUTH ISLAND ROADIE Today we take things down a gear, visiting historic Arrowtown en-route to the laid-back lakeside vibes of Wanaka. Have a go at waterskiing, kayaking or wakeboarding. Land lovers can hike it, or bike it, on one of many waterside trails. Then Cardona, where we ll sink a beer at one of New Zealand s oldest pub. Refreshed, we will slalom down the Crown Range Road back to Queenstown to chill, or hit the nightlife. QUEENSTOWN - LAKE TEKAPO DAY 6 Don t feel blue about leaving Queenstown, we re off to see another shade the stunning turquoise waters of Lake Tekapo. Its legendary colour comes from glaciers depositing minerals over thousands of years. Splash about in the flower flanked water and as the sun sets, the view gets even better. Spend the rest of the day at the beautiful Tekapo springs or hire a bike and go on an adventure. Lake Tekapo has been declared a Star Reserve, so as night falls we ll celebrate the last night of the tour raising a glass to the skies. LAKE TEKAPO - CHRISTCHURCH DAY After a final brekky, it s back to where we began, Christchurch. The South Island s biggest city is a vibrant, creative centre badly damaged back in 2011 s earthquake, but through Kiwi spirit it has been rebuilt to its former glories. Check out the cool pop-up cafés and grab a souvenir from one of the quirky shops. Then, sadly, the epic journey is at an end. Fear not, we ll hug it out and leave with stacks of great memories. YOUR VEHICLE Faq s Is Wild Kiwi for me? Wild Kiwi caters from an age range for 20-35 year olds who are looking to travel and explore as much as possible in a short time frame. We take the hassle out of accommodation, transport and selected meals so this gives you more time to enjoy your trip! Luggage restrictions For the comfort of guests, we restrict luggage to 20kg per person. Kitted out with reclining seats, USB ports, stereo, AC and big windows our luxury cruisers are perfect to discover the South Island from. Forget noisy, uncomfortable buses, stuffed to the brim with travellers, in our small vehicles every leg of your road trip is like cruising in your living room! What is included in my tour? Luxury transportation, tour with informative driver guide, all accommodation for the duration of your trip, welcome BBQ and breakfasts each day, What should I pack? Insect repellent, credit card/bank card (Visa or Mastercard), walking shoes, swimwear, camera, a sense of adventure and sunscreen! YOUR ACCOMMODATION How much money do I need? Finish the day with a hot tub with views to die for or walk into Queenstown to get your dance on! QUEENSTOWN DAY 1 Check-in to our epic ski house in the heart of Queenstown starts at midday. Your guides will make you feel at home and get you sorted with any ski or snowboard gear you may need. Relax at the house, enjoy the views and hot tub, or take a stroll into Queenstown and experience some awesome food and drinks with your ski buddies! CORONET PEAK DAY 2 After breakfast, it s snow time! Jump into our ski vans and our guides will get you up the hill for first tracks on Coronet Peak, just a few minutes drive from your ski house. If you are brand new to the slippery stuff you can take a lesson or let the ski guides hold your hand as you get your groove. If you re a ski bunny or board legend challenge your mates on the black diamonds or some fresh off-piste pow! At the end of the day head home for a dip in the spa and a few chilled ones, or head into town for some apres-ski festivity! THE REMARKABLES DAY 3 With some fuel in the tank, you ll be raring to go for day 3! The Remarkables are just half an hour s drive from the house and our guides will get you there. This field caters for everyone with 3 terrain parks 30% beginner, 40% intermediate and 30% expert slopes, perfect even if you re a pro! At the end of the day, it s back to the ski pad to chill or maybe there are a few more bars and restaurants to check out in town? CARDRONA DAY 4 A quick brekkie and you ll be on the road over the Crown Range towards Wanaka, up to Cardrona. With 345 hectares of terrain, including the legendary Captain s Basin, you can t get bored here! There are 6 cafes to refresh at, with some stunning snow and vistas in between. Finish the day off at the famous Cardrona Hotel for a mulled wine or chilled local tap beer around the bonfires, before heading back over the hill for your last night in Queenstown. Take a final dip in the hot tub, or pop back into your favourite restaurant or pub in town for a few well-deserved refreshments! Yes we will take you up the mountain each day and our guides will hang with you to make sure you have everything you need and take you on some epic runs! Our guides are young, fun, friendly and knowledgeable. Part driver, part local ski expert, part social guru they ll drive you, show you around the slopes and inspire you hell, they ll even hit the town with you. I M NEW TO SKIING OR BOARDING, WILL YOU TEACH ME? Our guide will make sure you have all the right gear and teach you the basics a lesson from a ski or board instructor is recommended and we will help you book this. I m a next level skier/boarder, will i be bored? No way! Our guides will give you a run for your money and if they can t keep up they ll point out the places you should be shredding!
