The ACEM and Winter Symposium The Australasian College of Emergency Medicine (ACEM) was founded in 1984 and is a full member of the International Federation for Emergency Medicine. It is an educational facility that focuses on the training and examination of specialist emergency physicians. It covers a range of objectives relating to emergency department accreditation, policies and standards and respects the medico political framework and how it affects the health outcomes for emergency patients. The three day Winter Symposium consists of Evidence Based Clinical Updates in Emergency Medicine with daily programmes in Diagnostics, Toxicology and Trauma & Critical Care. The format will be morning plenary sessions following a Keynote Speaker address, and afternoon clinically based workshops. The Venue The plenary sessions will be the Galaxy Ballrooms located on the fifth floor of the Millennium Hotel Queenstown. The Millennium Hotel Queenstown is located in the heart of Queenstown close to the central shopping and entertainment area. The hotel is also minutes from various other outdoor activities such as bungee jumping, white water rafting and jet boating. The Coronet Peak ski area is only 20 minutes away, the Remarkables ski area 25 km and the Cardrona ski area 65 km to the north. 3
