Peple marginalised by hmelessness, mental health issues and substance abuse can turn t Wayside fr cmpassin, tlerance and supprt. Our cmmunity services centres in Bndi and Kings Crss, utreach service, mental health prgram, cmmunity cafe and Abriginal prject are all designed t ensure the mst disadvantaged members f ur cmmunity have access t essential health, welfare, scial and recreatinal services. Abut Wayside s Building and Facilities: Wayside s buildings and facilities span fur sites acrss tw lcatins Kings Crss and Bndi. Cmpleted in 2012 fllwing an eighteen-mnth cnstructin, Wayside s Kings Crss building cmplex incrprates a new West Wing green building int the existing histric East Wing. Wayside s green building is pwered with slar energy and rainwater and purpse built areas including a rftp garden, chapel, cmmercial kitchen, cmmunity services centre and café, meeting and functin rms. The histric façade f the East Wing huses ffices, retail spaces and a drp in centre fr yuth at risk. Wayside s Bndi lcatin encmpasses three sites including a chapel and café space at Rsce Street, church and retail space at Nrth Bndi and a cmmunity service centre at Nrman Andrews Huse, lcated at Rsce St als.

Psitin Descriptin Psitin Summary The Facilities Wrker rle was created as part f a strategy t imprve the verall cleanliness and maintenance acrss The Wayside Chapel s sites, and t imprve the delivery f varius facilities central t the Prgrams wrk undertaken at The Wayside Chapel. Reprting t the Operatins Manager, the Cleaning Wrker is respnsible fr maintaining Wayside s buildings and facilities t an agreed service standard. Key respnsibilities Undertaking the cleaning f Wayside s buildings and ther facilities acrss all sites as directed; Reprting any damage r maintenance requirements f ther facilities t the apprpriate member f staff; Identifying and reprting WHS risks and incidents and at all times wrk within the Wayside Chapel s WHS plicies and prcedures; Assisting in any ther building r facilities tasks as directed; Undertaking duties acrss all prgrams f the Wayside Chapel as required; Wrkplace Health & Safety Actively prmte health and safety, and take reasnably practicable steps t cntrl risks, ensuring a safe wrkplace fr visitrs, staff and vlunteers; Cmply with legislatin and all Wayside OHS plicies/prcedures and instructins, reprting any hazards r safety issues and perfrming all tasks in a manner which guards against risk t self and thers within the wrkplace. Selectin Criteria Applicatins must address each essential selectin criteria individually. Applicatins which d nt individually address each selectin criteria will nt be cnsidered. Applicatin and Recruitment Prcess Applicants shuld prvide a cpy f their resume, a cvering letter and a written respnse separately addressing all the essential and desirable selectin criteria by 9am Thursday 10 May 2018. Applicatins which nly prvide a cver letter r resume, r nly address the selectin criteria generally, will nt be cnsidered. Applicants shuld prvide tw (2) wrk related referees with their applicatin, including their current line manager. A selectin panel f three (3) peple will be cnvened. All applicatins will be assessed by this panel against the essential and desirable criteria based n their resume and cver letter. Applicants wh are successful at this stage will be ffered an interview with the selectin panel. First rund interviews will be scheduled in the week cmmencing Mnday 14 May 2018, secnd rund interviews will be scheduled in the week cmmencing Mnday 21 May 2018. Applicants with a disability shuld infrm the cnvenr f the selectin panel f any special requirements upn cntact t arrange an interview. A shrt-list f successful applicants will be created. Referees will be checked at this time t substantiate infrmatin prvided by successful applicants.
