Throughout the week campers will be exposed to new opportunities that challenge them and help them grow physically, mentally, and emotionally. These experiences can be an adjustment and positive encouragement from all campers as well as all parents is essential to your child s success. We have the following Zoo Rules to offer guidelines for expected behavior that will help ensure each camper has a safe and enjoyable camp experience! At Zoo Camp We: 1. ARE RESPECTFUL Treat others like you would like to be treated. We are respectful to our fellow campers, counselors, and animals that live at the Zoo. 2. LISTEN to our counselors and fellow campers 3. KEEP OUR HANDS TO OURSELVES Hands are for helping each other not hurting. We will never use our hands, feet or other objects to hurt another living thing. 4. STICK TOGETHER whether out on excursions or in the Zoo, always stick together! 5. WALK. When we run, we can lose our group, trip and fall, hurt ourselves or hurt others. Behavior Action Plan Zoo Camp Counselors are experienced in working with children, and are trained in handling all types of behavior. However, we do recognize that children don t always follow the rules, and in these cases, we have a specific behavior action plan that our counselors will follow. 1. Counselors will first give a warning and reminder of the rules. They will suggest an alternate behavior that is acceptable. 2. Counselors will require the camper to take a break or sit out from an activity. 3. Counselors will call a parent or guardian to discuss the behavior with their camper. Depending on the severity of the behavior, steps may be skipped at a counselor s discretion. If a camper s behavior is endangering the safety of other campers and counselors or is continually disrupting camp activities, a camper may be sent home/and or asked not to return to camp. Refunds will not be issued for missed camp in these cases. If there is an incident during camp involving your camper you will receive a camper report card at the end of the day. This will describe any challenges we had during the day, as well as any subsequent measures we took.
In Case of Emergency: All of our counselors are First Aid certified and will handle minor injuries during camp. You will be notified at the end of the day of any minor scrapes or bruises. If a serious injury occurs, we will first notify the registered parent/guardian. If the parent/guardian cannot be reached, we will then go through the authorized pick-up list. If you would like to add an additional emergency contact not on the list, please email cciszewski@chattzoo.org or podom@chattzoo.org. You may also add an emergency contact at check in. We can t wait for our adventure! We are so excited to share this summer with your camper. By sending your camper to camp you agree to all information provided in this packet. If you have any questions regarding this packet, please contact either Chelsea or Paige. If your camper LOVED Zoo Camp and you wish to register for more dates, registration closes online a week before a camp is scheduled to begin.
