The plan was approved in 2015 and Infratel Italia is involved in the implementation project. Infratel Italia started with a public consultation of private operator coverage in more than 94.000 areas. After the mapping of coverage, Infratel selected the areas where a public financing plan is necessary and for those areas (38% of Italian households) was defined in 2016 the public tender.
