SO MUCH ON YOUR DOORSTEP There s so much to do in the local area, with walks and mountain-biking routes through nearby Slaley Forest and into the surrounding moorlands of Blanchland and Allendale Common. Within two miles are two pubs (both serving excellent food) and delightful Slaley village. Three miles away is Slaley Hall, whose two championship golf courses provide one of the most scenic and challenging golf venues in the country. Just five miles south of Springhouse is Derwent Reservoir, which offers fishing, sailing and windsurfing. And, of course, there s Hadrian s Wall. Along its whole length from coast to coast, you ll find forts and museums, great attractions for the kids - and some of the best walks in Northumberland.

From North From the M6, leave at junction 43 to take the A69 signposted Hexham and Newcastle. Turn left onto Hencotes (B6305). Turn right onto Eastgate (B3606).
