HELLO, At the Y, we believe all kids deserve the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive. We are committed to developing our community s youth through quality programs that build a healthy spirit, mind, and body. Our camp program is unlike any other in the area, offering many options to meet the needs of children and parents. So join us this summer and discover your potential. WELCOME TO THE PAV YMCA WHO WE ARE The Pav YMCA is a charitable, membership-based 501(c)3 non-profit organization. WHAT WE DO The Y provides support that empowers people and communities. We nurture the potential of every youth and teen, help others improve health and well-being, and create opportunities to give back to the community. WHO WE SERVE We serve the near west suburban communities of Chicago which include Berwyn, Cicero, Stickney, Lyons, Forest View, Riverside, and North Riverside. The Y is for people of all faiths, races, ages, incomes and abilities. We have a diverse membership of approximately 11,000 individuals and we see nearly a half-million visitors each year at an average of 40,000 each month. OUR MISSION To put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all. OUR CAUSE At the Y, strengthening community is our cause. Every day, we work side-by-side with our neighbors to make sure that everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive. OUR BELIEF We never turn anyone away due to their inability to pay membership fees. Close to $100,000 in fee assistance is awarded every year to children, teens, adults, seniors, and families through our Scholarship Program which is funded by our Annual Support Campaign. WHY CAMP? FOR ALL AGES With camp options for ages 3 years to 10th grade, your child or teen will have plenty of opportunities to explore and discover their potential at the Y. ADVENTURE Summer camp is all about adventures and new experiences, especially exploring the outdoors. Day campers and Extreme Teens go on weekly field trips to great local attractions. We have extended care options to meet campers and parents scheduling needs. EXPERIENCED & TRAINED STAFF All of our camp staff are background-checked, trained in CPR & First Aid, and are committed to providing a safe program for your camper. FINANCIAL AID We believe all children and teens should have a great summer camp experience, so we never turn anyone away for inability to pay. HEALTHY FUN Day camps offer fun, stimulating activities that engage both the body and the mind. MEMORIES & NEW FRIENDS Summer camp is an unforgettable experience that gives each camper memories to last a lifetime. PERSONAL GROWTH Campers have a chance to develop confidence and independence while gaining new lifeskills. 2 3
