A Brief Report To promote the Indian Chemical Industry, the, Department of Chemicals &, intextb, & Federation of Indian Chambers of commerce and Industry (FICCI) have jointly been organising the "India Chem" series of events. th th th INDIA CHEM GUJARAT 2015, 4 International Exhibition & Conference was held from October 28 to 30 at Mahatma Mandir, Gandhinagar, with the theme "Chemicals - A way of life". The event was inaugurated by the Hon'ble th Chief Minister for State Smt. Anandiben Patel on October 28, 2015, at Mahatma Mandir, Gandhinagar, in the presence of Shri Hansraj Gangaram Ahir, Minister of State for Chemicals & Fertilizers, India, Shri Surjit K Chaudhary, Secretary, Department of Chemicals and, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Shri Jacquez Perez, Managing Director & Country Representative, LANXESS India Pvt. Ltd, Shri Deepak Mehta, Chairman, FICCI National Chemical Industry Committee and VC & MD, Deepak Nitrite Ltd, Shri Pankaj R. Patel, Vice President, FICCI & Chairman and Managing Director, Zydus Cadila Healthcare Ltd. and Shri Mahesh Desai, President, The Dyestuffs Manufacturers' Association and other captains of the chemical industry. The event was an overwhelming success and the participants benefited by the enthusiastic business response. INAUGURATION The event was inaugurated by the Hon'ble Chief Minister for State Smt. Anandiben Patel on October 28th, 2015 in in the presence of over 400 industry representatives. FAIR STATICTICS Exhibitors: 124 Gross Area: 6600 Sqm No of Business Visitors: 6572 Business Visitors: 25 countries Pavilions: DIPP (Make in India), Dyestuff Manufactures Association (GDMA), Pumps & Valves, Pollution Control Board (GPCB), Odisha, Industries Department.
ON THE SPOT BUSINESS GENERATED Estimated Business Generated at the event Rs. 228 crore (approx. 15 million US Dollars), anticipated orders would be much higher. (Figures based on survey) Trade Visitors STATISTICS:- Total Trade Visitors: 6572 Feedback: 78% of the visitors surveyed were successful in gathering market information 84% of the visitors surveyed were successful in meeting suppliers 59% of the visitors surveyed were successful in placing orders 77% of the visitors surveyed found the new products were good **Above statistics representative of sample surveyed l During the exhibition, 74% of those who responded to our survey among exhibitors, appointed agents, business visitors and buying delegation l Approximately 85% of the total exhibitors have shown interest to participate in India Chem 2016 in Mumbai. l Almost 79% of the total exhibitors have shown interest to participate in India Chem 2017. BUYER SELLER MEET Other Business Platforms at India Chem 2015 n 728 buyers have participated at the Buyer Seller Meet on 29th October 2015. n Buyers participated from the industrial hubs of viz. Vapi, Ankleshwar, Vadodara, Panoli and Nandesari, Coimbatore, Mumbai, Ludhiana and other parts of the country. n Business Match Making: Buyers addressed their requirements at the forum and similarly exhibitors mentioned their products and services.
CONFERENCE India Chem 2015 included a two day International conference which was held on October 28-29, 2015. The theme of the conference was "Chemicals a Way of life. This conference gave a special focus to issues being faced by the Indian Chemical industry in realizing its true potential. It deliberated on the following agenda: l Inaugural session: This was ceremonial in nature. It also included industry perspective by Shri Deepak C. Mehta, Chairman of FICCI National Chemical Committee. Key note Address was delivered by Mr. Jacquez Perez, Managing Director & Country Representative, LANXESS India Pvt. Ltd l Technical Session I: (Panel Discussion) on the theme of the conference. The same included a presentation by Tata Strategic Mgt based on the Knowledge Paper prepared for the event and discussion by stakeholders from different segments of industry, Govt. Of India & also from Govt. of. l Technical Session II: The session debated, the Challenge of Feedstock for the Indian Chemical industry and the way forward. Present status, possible solutions to the challenge, such as from Reverse SEZ concept, Oleo chemicals route, were debated. l Technical Session III: This session gave focus to the Role of Logistics and Infrastructure as enabler of Indian Chemical Industry. Global scenario, best practices etc. were discussed. l Technical Session IV: Mission Make in India- Making a Global Manufacturing Hub of Specialty chemicals. The International conference also included a Symposium on Chemical Safety & Security organized jointly with University of Georgia. This was held on 29.10.2015. The same was inaugurated by Shri Samir K Biswas, Joint Secretary (Chemicals), Govt. of India. Presentations were made by representatives from University of Georgia (USA), Techno purple IT Solutions Pvt. Ltd, Indian Chemical Industry.
Highlights of the Conference: l 35 Key CEO's addressed the conference l 160 key stakeholders participated as Delegates in conference. A Knowledge and Strategy Paper on "Specialty Chemicals prepared by FICCI and TSMG was released by Hon'ble Chief Minister at the inaugural of India Chem 2015. A Report on Strategic Trade Management in India-& Critical issues in SCOMET Compliance was also released. On first day of the conference FICCI Chemicals and Awards 2015 was held which had 28 award categories. The awards were presented to the winner companies for their concerned category.
Another Round-table discussion on Pumps Valves & Process Equipments 2015 was organized on 29th October 2015 and forum deliberated on the Make in India-making India a global manufacturing hub. The forum involves manufacturers, suppliers, EPC and end user Segment. It was Chaired by Shri Vishvajit Sahay, Joint Secretary, Department of Heavy Industry, Govt. of India and Shri Samir Kumar Biswas, Joint Secretary (Chemicals), Dept. of Chemicals &, Govt. of India and well attended by the 40 leading industry captains. Chemical committee meeting 27th October, 2015 l FICCI National Chemical Committee was held under the chairpersonship of Shri Deepak C Mehta, Chairman of the Committee & VC and MD, Deepak Nitrite and there was also an interactive session held with Secretary, Dept. C & PC, Govt. of India focusing on important role being played by the chemical Industry in nation building by facilitating the various sectors of economy. Shri Arvind Agarwal, Addl. Chief Secretary, Industries & Mines Dept., Govt. of discussed about PCPIR States. l The meeting was well attended by top industry leaders of economy for successive growth and creating clear vision. 30 Key CEO's addressed the Forum.
