SUMMER RETREAT Nourish + Ritualize with Kathryn Anne Flynn AT SHANTI RETREAT ON WOLFE ISLAND
WOLFE ISLAND AUGUST 9-12 Look out at the water or lift your face toward sunshine and you feel a deeply felt truth: the resonance of connection. But it doesn t come without the effort of doing less, of reveling in slowing down and breathing deep. Refilling the well is essential to finding these moments on retreat and in daily life. Come to a retreat inspired by Kathryn s nourish + ritualize workshop to create space for wellness and restoration. It's an all-levels yoga experience that combines all-levels yoga of slower flows, gentle, yin and restorative practices, gorgeous hyper-local meals that are lovingly prepared, treats, and a healing atmosphere. We re going to create a special time together; you ll leave feeling fresh and rested.
ABOUT SHANTI Now in their 15th season, Shanti is the special home of Wendy, Darin and their yogic staff. They ve turned a once fishing + hunting lodge into Ontario s most sought after yoga retreat on Wolfe Island, a short ferry ride from Kingston. Guests will stay in the main lodge or cozy cabins, and can take in the garden grown meals in the dining room or lakeside patio. There are two yoga spaces, including the yurt, and a fireside reading area, multiple hammocks, docks, and green space. Vegetarian meals are lovingly prepared and they always delight! Many ingredients come from local producers or from the Shanti garden, and there are always cookies in the Shanti shop.
KATHRYN ANNE FLYNN Recognized for her articulate and thoughtful voice in writing and teaching on yoga, Kathryn is known for weaving together philosophy, anatomy and Ayurveda (yoga s lifestyle science), illuminating the complexities of these fields for practitioners and teachers alike. Students of many generations call her their teacher, drawn to her inclusivity and authenticity. In classes, students love the atmosphere of an efficient yet calm practice. She appreciates her once-a-week yogis as much as her teaching trainees. Even as she tries to live her yoga in all she does, there is a deep need for more people to do just a little bit of mindfulness, meditation, or yoga - so students of all interest-levels enjoy her classes. You will find your time with her to be inspired, authentic, calming and nourishing. Questions and conversation always welcome.
