Commercial Burglaries: Date/Time Address (block range) Method of Entry Description/Suspect Information 01/13/2016 12:50am 25000 Evergreen Rd. (Commercial Business) Front Door Glass was broken out. Employee for business was washing dishes in the back when he heard a loud boom from the front door glass braking. Employee stated he heard a noise like a crowbar was dropped on the front counter of the business. Employee then heard the perpetrator(s) leave. He never saw the perpetrator(s). Officers spoke to owner of business and he stated that two cash drawers were taken containing an undisclosed amount of cash. 01/13/2016 12:29am 29000 Northwestern (Commercial- Nails & Spa) Front Glass Door was broken out. Officers responded to an alarm for business at 12:29am. Officers discovered the front door glass had been broken out. The owner was notified and responded to scene. Owner advises nothing appears to be missing from the business.
From: 01/15/2016 6:00pm To: 01/18/2016 11:00am 26000 American Dr. (Commercial- Business) Rear Overhead Garage Door. Owner of business responded to alarm at his business. Owner discovered the rear overhead garage door was open approx. 3 inches and the latch on the inside was bent. Further investigation by the owner it appears that an employee came into work at 8:00am and accidentally set the alarm off. The owner believes that the employee then attempted to open the overhead garage door, forgot to release the latch first and damaged it. Appears incident is unfounded. Home Invasion: Date/Time Address (block range) Method of Entry Description/Suspect Information From: 01/16/2016 6:00pm To: 01/16/2016 10:00pm 19000 Melrose Ave. Entry through bathroom window. Victim advises sometime between 6:00pm 10:00pm someone gained entry into residence through the bathroom window. A TV is missing and some of the cords for the TV were recovered outside the residence. Victim stated there was a young B/M standing in front of their residence when they left. A Southfield Police K-9 Unit tracked to a residence in the 19000 Block of Melrose. (Group Home) Officers located two subjects at the residence. They were identified and incident is under investigation. Door frame was damaged. Entry had been made into the home by prying the side pedestrian garage door open and then the interior door to the residence. Lock Cylinder had been compromised. Victim states sometime between 4:00pm- 9:10pm someone forced entry into apartment by forcing the apartment door open. Nothing was disturbed inside the apartment. Suspect(s) possibly scared off? R/P had last seen the apartment undisturbed 3 days prior. Nothing appears to be missing. No suspect information.

Homeowner states that the home was last seen intact on 01/06/2016 at approximately 4:30pm. Homeowner states that a home inspection was completed at 2:30pm on 01/11/2016 and she was advised of the break in. The Washer & Dryer are missing from the home. At 10:30am he exited his dorm and discovered his vehicle was gone. The vehicle was recovered by MSP. There was an occupant in the vehicle and an arrest was made. There was ignition damage and the vehicle had accident damage.

It is unknown how entry was gained. No damage or signs of forced entry. No suspect information. Victim stated the license plate was stolen off her 2004 Chrysler Sebring on Sunday January 17, 2016 at approximately 1:45pm. The theft occurred while she was in the Store. No suspect information. Victim (Teller at Bank) stated at approximately 11:28am a B/M walked up to her window and she greeted him. Teller asked him if he was making a withdrawal and he stated yea. At that time, the suspect passed her a note stating that it was a Hold Up. The bank teller then gave suspect an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect then fled the bank. Description of Suspect: 50-60 year old b/m, medium complexion, 5'10-5'11, medium build, gray facial hair, and possibly missing teeth or crooked teeth. He was wearing a gray knitted hat, dark coat with gray sleeves or vest and a yellow collar or hoodie, dark pants, and white shoes. Be on the Look Out Highlights: Special Attention: Reckless Discharge of a Firearm 01/13/2016 2:50am 16000 Block of Mayfair Dr. Suspect stated he was practicing for a competition that was scheduled for the next day. Suspect thought that he had loaded blank rounds into his firearm, when he actually loaded live rounds. Suspect was practicing and aimed at his window pulled the trigger, subsequently firing one shot through his window entering the residence across from his. No one was injured. Incident has been submitted to City Legal for possible complaint & warrant. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Gun Safety: Always assume that a weapon is loaded. Never point a gun and pull the trigger unless you re at a Gun Range and the gun is pointed down range. Officer was able to relay that information to Detectives where the crime originated. It was discovered that suspect(s) committed FTD crimes in Southfield and several other jurisdictions. Incidents involved stolen credit card numbers. Incidents will be presented to Oakland County Prosecutors Office for Complaint & Warrant(s). OWI- 1- Arrest 01/16/2016 12:43am M-10 & Telegraph Rd. Officers located a single vehicle crash while on routine patrol. The officers made contact with the driver of the vehicle and suspected that he had been drinking. An OWI investigation was conducted and the driver was arrested for OWI.

Lexus RX-350 OWI/ Possession of Marijuana- 1- Arrest 01/16/2016 Mt. Vernon & Greenfield Rd. Officer was dispatched to the location on a report of a driver slumped behind the wheel. Upon arrival, Officer located vehicle and suspected that the driver of the vehicle had been drinking. An OWI investigation was conducted and the driver was arrested for OWI and Possession of Marijuana. OWI- 1-Arrest 01/16/2016 3:15am Franklin Rd. / Northwestern Hwy. Officer initiated a stop for a traffic violation at location. 9) 28000 Block of Franklin Rd. 2015 Ford Mustang Anyone with any information regarding anything in this report can contact the Southfield Police Department Detective Bureau. 1-248-796-5540 OWI/ CPL Violation- 1- Arrest 01/16/2016 5:11am 8 Mile Rd. / Northwestern Ser. Dr. Officers stopped a vehicle for Disobeying 2- Red Traffic Signals. An OWI investigation was conducted and the driver was arrested for OWI. The driver is a CPL holder and had his weapon in the vehicle. The weapon was confiscated and driver was also charged with CPL Violation. OWI- 1- Arrest 8 Mile Rd. / Southfield Rd. Officer responded to Eight Mile and Southfield Road for a Crash Report. Upon investigating the crash it was discovered that the at fault driver was intoxicated. The driver was arrested for OWI and lodged.
Special Attention: Crime Prevention Tip Best Way To Defend Against Having Your Wheels & Tires Taken From Your Vehicle. 1) Wheel Locks work, but you must attempt to locate a spot within your vehicle or trunk to conceal Wheel Lock Key so it would be difficult for suspects to locate the key. 2) Citizens that have a garage should park their vehicle(s) in the garage and be sure to lock the garage door(s). If your garage is cluttered with items then it s time to clean out your garage so you can park your vehicle in the garage. Another advantage to parking your vehicle(s) in the garage is you won t have to scrape ice or snow from your vehicle when it snows!! Most of these incidents are occurring in the early morning hours between 12:00am- 5:00am. Anyone that hears any loud booms (vehicle being dropped to ground after taking the wheels & tires) or see s any suspicious activity in or around any vehicle should immediately call 911 and report it to the Police. Don t confront or scare suspect(s) away. This will give police better chance of catching suspect(s).
