THE ITINERARY Day 1 Australia - Paris, France Today, depart from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide or Perth for Paris! Fly with award-winning airlines such as Etihad Airways, Emirates, Singapore Airlines, Virgin Australia or Cathay Pacific Airways, to name a few (subject to availability). Meals included: In-Flight Day 2 Arrive in Paris, France On arrival into Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport, be met and transferred to your hotel. Here, you will have the opportunity to visit the Cathédrale Notre-Dame. This monument is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List and is a model of great Gothic architecture. See the the spectacular stained glass windows, where the unique bleu de chartres can be found. See also the mysterious labyrinth. Continuing onwards to Tours, stop in Vouvray for a visit of the cellars. The cellars, Les Caves Duhard, are located in Troglodytes - extraordinary cave-like buildings, carved into the limestone hills and built in the 16th century. After the visit, enjoy a tasting of 3 different wines along with a plate of local cheeses. Overnight: Hotel Grand or similar; Tours Day 3 Paris Walking Tour After breakfast, your local guide will meet you at the hotel and you will begin your fascinating morning walking tour in Paris s famous Montmartre neighbourhood. Begin with a visit outside the Sacred Heart. Learn about the exterior and interior of the Basilica and see the largest mosaic in the world, Christ in Majesty. After the Basilica your guide will take you into the village of Montmartre. The Montmartre neighbourhood has always stood apart from the rest of Paris, not just as the large hill in the city s 18th Arrondissement, but also as home to artists, revolutionaries and outsiders who have played an important part in the unique history of Paris. These streets hold wild stories and a unique perspective around every corner. The Place du Tertre is one of the most famous squares of Paris. Finally, walk down the hill where you will see the famous wall of je t aime : I love you written in 250 languages. Your guide will leave you there if you wish or escort you back to your hotel. The rest of the day is free to explore more of the beautiful city of Paris. Overnight: Hotel Bastille de Launay or similar, Paris Day 4 Paris - Chartres - Tours, Loire Valley This morning after breakfast your coach will meet you at the Day 5 Tours Walking Tour, Loire Valley After breakfast at the hotel your guide will begin a morning walking tour of the city. You will visit the old town, with cobbled stone streets and see Tours Saint-Gatien Cathedral. Our guide will lead you to Tours covered Market, the heart of the town. Discover and try local specialities, fresh produce, fruits and vegetables. The rest of the day is free to enjoy at leisure. Overnight: Hotel Grand or similar; Tours Day 6 Tours - Azay le Rideau - Tours This morning you will meet your local guide and transport at your hotel and depart westward to visit the castle of Azay le Rideau. The Château was built on an island in the Indre River under the patronage of King Francis I. A subtle blend of French tradition and innovative Italian decor, the Chateau is an icon of the new art of building in the Loire Valley in the 16th century. Successive owners have helped to make it the most architecturally harmonious treasure in the Loire Valley. Then proceed to the village of Quincay. Visit a family run property in the troglodyte. This is very typical of the region. Their speciality is poires tapées, dried pears, delicious and unique to the area.

THE ITINERARY Return to Tours for the evening. Overnight: Hotel Grand hotel or similar; Tours Day 7 Tours - TGV Train - Bordeaux Today you will be transferred to the train station for your TGV journey from Tours to Bordeaux. Overnight: Hotel Mercure Chartrons or similar, Bordeaux Day 8 Bordeaux - Castets en Dorthe - Canal des Deux Mers Begin 7 Night Cruise & Semi Guided Cycling Tour After breakfast at the hotel, be transferred to Bordeaux Gare St Jean station. Your cruise and cycle transfer awaits for the short drive down to the boats mooring near Canal des Deux Mers at Castets-en-Dorthe, in the middle of the Garonne Valley. Embarkation starts at 3:00pm. Today is the first day of your Semi-guided cycling cycling tour of Bordeaux! Each day you will receive a briefing, where the tour leader will explain the next day s tour and you can cycle individually, at your own pace with detailed cycling maps and tour descriptions. The tour leader is also cycling (not in a group) in the area and in the case of questions or an emergency she/he can be reached for assistance on a mobile phone number. A fully guided tour is also available (*not included - see Important information) with an English speaking tour guide who has an in-depth knowledge of the region for all daily cycling tours and visits en route. You can enjoy an optional short first bike ride around Castets, exploring this flat and fertile region aptly named Little Holland with walnut trees, kiwi orchards and vegetable fields. Following the bike path along the Canal des Deux Mers (Canal of Two Seas) that links the Atlantic to the Mediterranean, discover lush rural countryside. In the evening, a complimentary welcome cocktail awaits you on board. ;Dinner Day 9 Castets-en-Dorthe Saint Macaire La Réole Canal de la Garonne Round tour (30km or 50km) Castets After a restful night on board, the first town to discover by bike is lovely Saint Macaire and its wonderful gate and walls. There is opportunity to visit the former residence of the writer Francois Mauriac as well as your first wine tasting at a château. Riding between corn and sunflower fields you reach La Réole, with an Eiffel-style bridge over the river Garonne. Here in 1190 Richard Lionheart, on his way to the holy Land, famously gave the town hall building to thank the locals for their loyalty to the English crown. This historical place holds two castles, an impressive church and narrow cobblestoned streets. To end the day enjoy the bike path along the Canal de la Garonne and its deep blue water, built in Napoleon times. Choose to return to the ship or ride to Meilhan-sur-Garonne and the amazing scenery it has to offer. ;Lunch;Dinner Day 10 Loupiac - Entre-Deux-Mers - Graves Sauternes Cadillac (50km) Bordeaux Today discover the Sauternes region, where sweet dessert wines are made. The day starts with the view from Sainte-Croix du Mont and a look at the grave of painter Henri de Toulouse- Lautrec. The route then follows the winding banks of the Ciron River, whose icy waters flow into the warmer waters of the Garonne. In the autumn, when the climate is warm and dry, the combination of the two different temperatures produce mist that descends on the vineyards, promoting the perfect conditions for the famous Sauternes wine. Pass the famous vineyards of Château d Yquem, Château Guiraud, Clos Haut Peyraguey and more. Wine tastings are offered here! (not included) Visit the village of Cadillac is in Graves region, the birthplace of Bordeaux wines. It is a fortified medieval village known as the Bastide in the Entre-Deux- Mers wine region in between the Garonne and Dordogne rivers. THE ITINERARY la Bourse and Quai des Chartrons. ;Lunch;Dinner Day 11 Semi-guided City Bike Tour In Bordeaux the tour guide will recommend a city tour to discover its architectural gems on two wheels. This short cycling tour, mainly over cycling lanes along both sides of the Garonne river in the cycling capital of France, offers beautiful panoramic views of the waterfront and the city. In the afternoon, enjoy the UNESCO sites of Bordeaux during an optional walking or cycling tour. Attractions include the royal entrance of the city (Cailhau Gate), the Bell Tower of Pey Berlan, Golden Triangle and the beautiful reflective Water Mirror. You will discover beautiful squares, hidden gardens and quaint locations where you can taste Bordeaux renowned cannelés and coffee, or fresh oysters and white wine. There is free time in the afternoon to shop and explore. Be sure to explore the town s streets and shops where wine is as old as the underground cellars carved in stone or to visit the newly opened La Cité du Vin. ;Lunch;Dinner Day 12 Bordeaux Lamarque Margaux (Médoc) (45km) Lamarque Bourg In the morning the ship cruises from Bordeaux to Lamarque. Then cycle in the famous Médoc wine area. Winding your way through vineyards, discover some of Médocs most beautiful castles and prestigious wineries, including Châteaux Palmer, Issan, Lewis Brown, Rauzan Segla, Ferrière, and the last but not least Château Margaux. You can stop at one of these great wine estates for a visit, tasting (optional) before returning to the boat. In the late afternoon, the ship will cruise the wide Gironde estuary to the jetty of Bourg, a picturesque little town near the conjunction of the Gironde and Dordogne rivers. The old city centre overlooks the estuary. ;Lunch;Dinner Day 13 Bourg to Blaye Fortress & vineyards (37km) Bourg Fronsac/Libourne Cycling from Bourg you will enter the Côtes de Blaye vineyard. Its wine chateaux may be little known but their production rivals its more famous neighbours on the opposite river bank of Médoc. You will be surprised to see what this region holds behind its hilly landscape covered with endless vines and dotted with scattered fairy-tale chateaux and elegant manor houses. Since the Middle Ages, countless numbers of pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostella have passed through this region as they commence their pilgrimage of the Camino de Santigo. In Blaye, take a short loop through the UNESCO World Heritage Listed Vauban Fortress to admire this military masterwork of the architect of Louis XIV, the Sun King, before you return to Bourg by cycling part of the Corniche, a scenic, quiet road along the Gironde estuary. In the evening, sail on to Fronsac / Libourne on the Dordogne river. ;Lunch;Dinner Day 14 Fronsac/Libourne, Pomerol & Saint-Émilion vineyards (35 or 45km) In Libourne you can stroll to the picturesque city square, lined with buildings dating as far back as the 16th century. Choose to visit the weekly market on Friday mornings, before starting your exploration of the famous Pomerol and Saint-Émilion wine areas. Pedalling the countryside, bristling with vines, you will enjoy riding through this unspoiled UNESCO World Heritage landscape. Cycling the landscape provides a unique view of the village s medieval lanes and surrounding vineyards. Take some time to visit beautiful Saint-Émilion. Your ride will continue on small picturesque back roads and paths where you will get a glimpse of Saint Émilion s most famous châteaux. Along the way you will see some of the first classified wines such as Angelus, Ausonne, Cheval Blanc, Petrus some of the world s most famous wine estates. A true paradise for wine lovers!

BIKE TOUR Fitness The boat and bike tours are family friendly and children over 13 are more than welcome - but please ensure that you and your children can cycle daily distances of 30 50 kilometers before booking (Daily cycling is a minimum 15 kilometers). You can always opt to stay on board for one or more days (children under 18 only under adult supervision). Level Cycling during this tour in the Bordeaux area can be rated easy to moderate, with daily cycling distances from 30 to 50 km. The terrain is relatively flat with some short climbs out of the river valleys onto the intervening vineyard areas and is suitable for cyclists with some (recent) practice and basic to moderate fitness levels. Semi-guided You will receive daily briefings, where the tour leader will explain the next day s tour and you can cycle individually, at your own pace with detailed cycling maps and tour descriptions. The tour leader is also cycling (not in a group) in the area and in the case of questions or an emergency she/he can be reached for assistance on a mobile phone number. A fully guided tour is also available (not included) with an English speaking tour guide who has an in-depth knowledge of the region for all daily cycling tours and visits en route (entrance fees not included). Customers can choose to cycle all day all the while your floating hotel is there at the end of the day to welcome you with a warm shower, a gourmet menu and your own cabin. If you are travelling with a non-cyclist family member or friend who wants to sit out the day s cycling, it is possible to stay on-board during the day and enjoy the journey on the cruise while the rest of the passengers cycle. Another major advantage of cruise and cycling touring is that you have the same cabin for the duration of the tour, which means you do not have to pack and unpack every day. Helmets In France, adult cyclists do not have to wear a helmet, however children till 12 yrs are obligated to wear a bike helmet. We recommend you to bring your own (well fitting) helmet if you wish to wear one. Only a limited number of helmets (standard size) are available on board. TOUR LEADER Tour Guide: Often locals with intimate knowledge of an area, its culture, and history. Their role entails providing commentary, routing the tour, and seeing that people have a good time. They are a licensed, qualified expert who supplies specific information on history, art, architecture and culture of the city/village/attraction in which he or she is guiding the tour. The guide meets the group at the required place and leaves the group at the end of the tour, they do not travel with the group. Tour Leader: An experienced person tasked with ensuring the smooth operation of tours, as well as providing practical support to passengers throughout the whole trip. Their role primarily includes assisting with accommodation, transportation between locations, and communication with tour guides in each stop. A tour leader may provide general guidance around a city or village, and offer information on the place visited on the bus, however they are not required to have specific knowledge on art, architecture, or history. They are not allowed to provide a guided tour or commentary of a city/village/attraction once there and if caught doing so, can be fined. Please note: Tour leaders/guides are not a standard inclusion in all travel offers.
