Today, there are not as many fish and fishermen as there used to be - what is left are the stories, memories and items, which allow us a glimpse into the life of our ancestors and help introduce visitors to our rich heritage in relation to the sea, boats and fishing.

Tourism Day in Selce For the last 50 years, August 4th has been a very special day in Selce, as the first swimming baths were opened on this day back in 1894. This event celebrates the tradition of tourism in Selce. It starts in the morning with a get-together on the waterfront with portions of fried fish, local wine and music. In the evening, there is a boat parade with a large sailing ship and specially decorated boats illuminated with lanterns and decorated with ash branches. For more than a hundred years, the Šilo-Crikvenica swimming marathon has taken place every year on August 15th, on the feast of the Assumption of Mary, the patron saint of Crikvenica.
