VAMPA Instructions for use and safety READ CAREFULLY BEFORE USE Please store these safety warnings in a safe place for future reference. NOTICE: BUYER ASSUMES ALL RESPONSIBILITY FOR SAFETY AND USE THAT IS NOT IN ACCORDANCE WITH INSTRUCTIONS AND WARNINGS. We all understand fire is dangerous but for many years it has been safely used and enjoyed when properly handled. To insure your safety and enjoyment we provide a safety manual that explains the correct use of your Nu-Flame fireplace and the basic risk of using the product. It is the sole responsibility of the consumer of any product sold by Bluworld or its resellers to obtain proper instruction from the safety manual and to always act safely, wisely and with caution while using our products. Failure to follow these instructions could result in property damage, bodily injury or even death.

SETUP INSTRUCTIONS FOR VAMPA Read and Understand the entire Nu-Flame Manual prior to use. Make certain to inspect the package thoroughly. Carefully remove and unwrap your Nu-Flame fireplace. Your fireplace will have the following components: 1. Black High Heat Powder Coated Backer 2. Curved Burner Holder 3. Burner 4. Safety Mounting Bracket (3 pieces) 5. Glass Wind Screen 6. Hardware Bag 7. Dampener tool You may wish to purchase a funnel for pouring fuel into the burner Attach the curved burner holder to the backer using the 4 brown allen screws and large washers. Line up the burner holder holes with the backer holes and thread each allen screw with washer into each hole. Tighten securely with the provided allen key/wrench. Mark on your wall exactly where you wish to hang the fireplace using the overall height and width. Once you are satisfied with the placement make a mark on the wall 8 down from the very top of where you want the fireplace to be mounted. This is where the bottom of the horizontal mounting bracket will sit. Using a level draw a line horizontally on the mark you just made.

Take the horizontal mounting bracket piece (piece with tabs at top) and place it on the level line you drew. Mark the holes with a pencil and remove the bracket. Using a ¼ drill bit, drill the holes you just marked. Take the white plastic anchor and tap one into each drilled hole using a hammer. Make certain the anchor is flush with the wall. Place the horizontal bracket on the wall in line with the anchors and using the anchor screws secure and tighten the bracket to the wall. Hang the vertical brackets off each tab on the horizontal bracket. Using a level, level each side bracket and mark the holes. Remove the bracket and drill the newly marked holes. Tap into each hole one plastic wall anchor.

Replace the vertical brackets and using the anchor screws secure and tighten each vertical bracket to the wall. Your fireplace is now ready to be mounted. Line up the tabs on the horizontal mounting bracket with the two mounting cutouts located on the back of the backer. Lift the fireplace into position and make certain the tabs are locked into the mounting holes and the unit is seated securely on the wall. The tabs on the vertical bracket will sit under the backer. Place the burner into the burner holder, the opening of the burner will face away from the wall. Make certain the burner is well seated and sitting level. Slide the glass wind screen into the curved burner holder. Screw in the two smallest screws to secure the unit to the wall. These screws have one small washer each. Align the vertical mounting tabs at the bottom of the fireplace with the screw holes, thread and tighten the screws to secure. The burner is filled with a high heat ceramic fiber. Do not remove the ceramic fiber from inside the burner. Use only a recommended Ventless Fireplace Fuel like Nu-Flame Bio-Ethanol Fuel. Make certain the sliding dampener on the burner slides easily back and forth and is completely open prior to filling. Make certain the burner is clean and free of dirt or packing debris. Pour fuel into the burner using a funnel. The burner should be no more than 2/3 full. DO NOT OVERFILL. Wipe up any spilled fuel. Use a long match or extended lighter to ignite the fuel. Use the included dampener tool to open and close the dampener, adjust the height of the flame or to extinguish the fire completely. CAUTION: The flame starts out slowly. Please allow 15 minutes to reach the optimum temperature and flame height. DO NOT ASSUME THE FUEL DID NOT IGNITE. Follow the refilling instructions in this manual.

First-Time Use Instructions Your Nu-Flame Fireplace is for decorative purposes only and not suitable for continuous operation. Do not use the Fire to heat or boil water or as a cooking appliance. Do not put wood, charcoal, paper or other combustible objects into the Fire. 1. PLACEMENT OF NU-FLAME FIREPLACE: This fireplace will use oxygen from the air inside the room where it is operated. The rooms should be well ventilated with enough oxygen and fresh air being supplied (i.e. slightly open windows if room is not vented). When ventilated, the room where the fireplace is operated in should not be smaller than 215sq.ft. (to calculate the square footage of a room multiply the width x length. For example, If the room is 15 wide x 16 long then 15 x 16 =240 sq.ft.) Freestanding and tabletop units must be placed on a safe, level, stable, non-flammable area and 12 from glass windows or mirrors. Wall mounted fireplaces must be installed on a flat, solid, sturdy wall with non-flammable wall covering in accordance with the enclosed instructions and at least 60 from drapery. 2. OPERATION: Check that the burner s slider/dampener is free from obstruction and operating smoothly (closing and opening fully). This feature is not available on units with cup burners. 3. FUEL: Read Fuel Bottle label before use. Use only approved ethanol fuel. We recommend Nu-Flame Bio-Ethanol Fuel. USE EXTREME CAUTION! - DANGER FLAMMABLE/IRRITANT Ethanol Fuel is a Class 3 flammable liquid and presents real danger when not used in direct compliance with all Instructions and safety warnings. KEEP FUEL OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN AND PETS 4. POURING: Slowly pour fuel into clean burner or burner cup that is COOL TO THE TOUCH. Use a funnel to fill linear burners. Fill burner or cup no more than 2/3 full. Don t overfill or allow fuel to touch anything other than the inside of the burner or cup. Clean any spills with water before lighting. Replace cap on bottle and place bottle 5 feet or more away from the fireplace before lighting. Store fuel bottles in cool dry space. Do not store in direct sunlight or allow fuel to become heated. CAUTION: Spilled alcohol may mar or stain flooring or furniture. 5. LIGHTING: Use long match or extended lighter to light fuel. CAUTION: The flame starts out slowly. Please allow 15 minutes to reach the optimum temperature and flame height. DO NOT ASSUME THE FUEL DID NOT IGNITE. 6. BURNING: DO NOT MOVE OR TOUCH FIREPLACE WHEN LIT OR HEAT IS PRESENT. UNIT WILL BE VERY HOT. It is recommended that the fuel in the burner or burner cup be burned completely. NEVER LEAVE A BURNING OR HOT FIREPLACE UNATTENDED. KEEP AWAY FROM CHILDREN AND PETS; THIS IS NOT INTENDED FOR CHILDREN. NEVER ALLOW THEM TO LIGHT OR EXTINGUISH A FLAME. 7. EXTINGUISHING: To extinguish the flame, only use the snuffer tool that came with your Nu-Flame fireplace or use the slider/dampener tool to close the burner. DO NOT BLOW OUT FLAME or attempt to extinguish with water. Snuff for 20 seconds or longer. DO NOT ASSUME FLAME IS OUT BECAUSE YOU CANNOT SEE IT.

Relighting & Refilling WARNING: DO NOT ATTEMPT TO ADD FUEL TO BURNER OR BURNER CUP IF FLAME IS PRESENT OR BURNER/CUP IS HOT, THIS MAY CAUSE A FLASH FIRE AND SEVERE BURNS. FLAME MAY BE NEARLY INVISIBLE: APPROACH FIRE WITH CAUTION. Always follow shut-off procedure before refueling 1. SHUT BURNER OFF WITH DAMPENER/SLIDER OR PROVIDED SNUFFER TOOL FOR CUPS OR ALLOW FUEL TO BURN OUT COMPLETELY. ALLOW 30 MINUTES FOR UNIT TO COOL BEFORE REFUELING. WAIT FOR THE FIREPLACE AND BURNER/CUP TO COOL TO ROOM TEMPERATURE. FLAME MAY BE DIFFICULT TO SEE - DO NOT ASSUME THE UNIT IS OFF. MAKE SURE THAT THE FLAME IS OUT AND NO HEAT IS PRESENT! CAREFULLY REFILL BURNER OR CUP NO NORE THAN 2/3 FULL. DO NOT OVERFILL. 2. Light with long match or extended lighter. CAUTION: The flame starts out slowly. DO NOT ASSUME THE FUEL DID NOT IGNITE. 3. Never leave a burning or hot fireplace unattended. KEEP AWAY FROM CHILDREN AND PETS; THIS IS NOT INTENDED FOR CHILDREN. NEVER ALLOW THEM TO LIGHT OR EXTINGUISH A FLAME. 4. Ethanol Fuel, when not used correctly and safely can cause serious burns, destruction of property, or even death. Leftover fuel should be disposed of. Dispose unused fuel content and empty bottles in accordance with local regulations for hazardous materials. WARNINGS! Never leave a burning or hot fireplace unattended. Do not operate in a room with oxygen tanks in use or if flammable vapors are present. Do not burn in a confined space, the flame consumes oxygen. Glass will be hot when lit and for some time after extinguishing, do not touch glass surface. Due to high surface temperatures keep children, pets, clothing, drapery and furniture away from the unit. Do not obstruct or inhibit flame. Do not use for cooking purposes. Allow fireplace to cool before touching or moving. Exercise the same precautions as you would an open fire. Keep away from children and pets. This is not intended for children. In case of emergency Dial 911. Extinguish fire with approved fire extinguisher.

Cleaning & Care 1. EXTERIOR: Clean the exterior or body of your Nu-Flame Fireplace with damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals. 2. GLASS: Clean the glass with a glass cleaner or damp paper towel and wipe dry. Do not use harsh chemicals. 3. BURNER: Remove the burner from the fireplace and wipe the top and dampener slide with a cloth or sponge dampened with water to remove any traces of dust or spills and wipe dry. Fine gauge stainless steel may be used for further cleaning to remove discoloration of the burner or burner cup only. Use only with the stainless steel burner or burner cup provided with your Nu-Flame fireplace, never use other containers. 4. FUEL: Spilled alcohol may mar or stain flooring or furniture.
