Honorable Mayor & City Council Meeting Date: October 15, 2013 DISCUSSION The Friends of the Beverly Hills Public Library have donated $20,070 to support the delivery of materials to the Roxbury Senior Library and homebound seniors as well as the pickup of materials that are donated to the Library. Funding for these services was eliminated in Fiscal Year 09-10 due to the economic downturn and budget cutbacks. Since then, the Friends of the Beverly Hills Public Library have generously made annual donations to continue these valuable and needed services. The Library also received a disbursement of $220,484.77 from the Leota Anne Lightfoot Trust. Ms. Lighttoot was a patron of the Beverly Hills Library who passed away a couple of years ago. The City Council previously accepted a donation of $57,000 from Ms. Lightfoot at the April 2, 2013 Council meeting. It is recommended that funds from this generous donation will be used for capital improvement projects in the Library. FISCAL IMPACT These donations totaling $240,554.77 have no fiscal impact on the City s General Fund obligation.
