OLD BOYS TEAM DETAILS The athlete s buses (2) leave from school at 6.55am Wedn. If you are late you either have to take a bus with the spectating students, which leave after ranks not a problem if your event is later in the day or make your own way to Newtown Park. The bus will not wait we must not get stuck in traffic. Cell phone txt Mr Steel at 027 8406143 if you really are not going to make it in time for your event and we need to find a replacement last resort! Summer uniform everyone wears this into the park nothing else. Change into athletics gear at the park we will have the school tent for this. White shorts and school McEvedy singlet are our competition clothing. You may wear skins under white shorts or the McEvedy Stream skins on their own. Other skins need to be only blue/black or white. Warm-up clothing is PE shirt/sports Institute shirt/school summer polo/athletics hood/school tracksuit top NOTHING ELSE on top. Track pants of dark blue /black with no company logos acceptable. Approximate arrival at the park by 8.15am. Students travelling directly from home need to be at Newtown Park by 8.15am. Parents of boys who plan to do this are asked to let the office know, absentee@stream.school.nz so our attendance rolls are accurate. Parents are asked to email Mr Steel and advise him as well. steelh@stream.school.nz All athletes stay in the tent area on the water jump side of the track do not join the school in the stand. It is important you stay with the team even if your events may be finished.. In the event of wet weather we will relocate to the stand. Singlets issued on day and returned on the day. This will apply to ALL ATHLETES, with a number of boys having singlets due to being committed athletes we want all singlets back after competition to prepare for McEvedy. Essentially a singlet will be allocated to as many boys as we can with some boys needing to share a singlet, as we do not have enough for a full Old Boys team. In the case of sharing, the boy who is assigned a singlet is responsible for that singlet returning. Singlets that go missing will incur a replacement cost of $50. NB Boys of a larger nature may wear a school PE top, as we are short of L and XL singlets. PE tops are an option for all boys who miss getting a singlet, so these boys should bring in a PE top to the park. Do not bring in valuables with you we cannot guarantee security of these in what is a very busy day. Bring a water bottle and put on sunscreen. If you have spikes, please be prepared to share them with those younger athletes who have had no chance to get any. It is a team event. All boys who get lunch in the dining room will get a packed lunch delivered at lunch break.
