As a member of the Kansai Foods Export Promotion Cooperative Association (established in August 2013) and the Kansai Food Export and Branding Association (established in April 2014), we are promoting the food export from the KIX. Kohku Shuhai Service Co., Ltd. opened a new facility specialized in the export of Japanese food at the KIX International Cargo area, which is for the first time for the Japanese airports. Kohku Shuhai Service Co., Ltd. has operated the largest fresh foods warehouse at the KIX international cargo area. With the new food export warehouse and the current delivery network for fresh products, they support the export and import of foods and the transportation service. To spread the safe and OISHII Japanese foods to overseas markets, KIX is committed to expand the food export business in addition to the enforcement of air transport network and the increase of cargo volume. Jin Air announces new services for Busan Route August 31, 2015 We are pleased to announce that from September 25 (Fri), 2015, Jin Air (LJ) will launch new services between KIX and Busan, 14 flights a week. Jin Air is a low-cost carrier established in South Korea in 2008, and started the KIX services from March 2015. Jin Air now operates a total of 28 flights a week from KIX to Incheon and Busan. ANA and JAL increase the number of flights to Tokyo (Haneda) We are pleased to announce that from October 25 (Sun), 2015, All Nippon Airways (ANA) and Japan Airlines (JAL) will each add one daily flight between KIX and Tokyo (Haneda). New Family Mart opens at the North Wing - The International Departure Area in the Terminal 1 Building becomes more convenient - We are pleased to announce that as from August 26 (Wed), 2015, FamilyMart Co., Ltd. opened a new convenience store Family Mart on the 2 nd floor of North Wing, the International Departure Area in the Terminal 1 Building. The FamilyMart Co., Ltd. now operates four convenience stores at KIX including the 2 nd floor and 4 th floor of the Terminal 1 Building, and the International Cargo Area. However, this is the first store at the KIX International Departure Area for a major convenience chain. Kansai International Airport x YAMAHA Sound UD Project Implements the demonstration trial of the OMOTENASHI GUIDE We are pleased to announce that we have implemented the demonstration trial regarding the sound universal design, KIX x YAMAHA Sound UD Project at the Kansai International Airport, with using the OMOTENASHI GUIDE developed by YAMAHA Corp. (CEO: Takuya Nakata, HQ: Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka). Overview of the KIX x YAMAHA Sound UD Project The OMOTENASHI GUIDE smartphone application, allows users to display and read the announcements made at KIX in a selected language even without the Internet, Wi-Fi, or Beacon connections. The system can be used with the existing speakers or announcement equipment. The system now supports automatic voice, and YAMAHA has been working on the system enhancement for natural voice in the joint research project with NICT (National Institute of Information and Communications Technology). The OMOTENASHI GUIDE allows users to receive services based on the sound universal design when they are within the system-installed facilities or transportations. T Way Airlines announces new services for Guam route We are pleased to announce that from October 1 (Thu), 2015, T Way Airlines (TW) will launch new services between KIX and Guam, 3 flights a week. The T Way Airlines is a low-cost carrier (LCC) established in South Korea in 2010, and started services to KIX from March 2015. This will be the first LCC service between KIX and Guam. Beijing Capital Airlines announces new service between Nanchang and Haikou We are pleased to announce that from October 8 (Thu), 2015, Beijing Capital Airlines (JD) launches new services between KIX = Nanchang = Haikou. Additionally, Beijing Capital Airlines starts the regular flight operation between KIX and Yancheng from September 1, and between KIX and Shijiazhuang from September 3. (The charter flight between KIX and Yancheng started from June 2, and between KIX and Shijiazhuang from June 15.) Beijing Capital Airlines now operates a total of 8 flights a week to 5 cities in China, such as Hangzhou, Yancheng, Shijiazhuang, Nanchang, and Haikou.
