Provisional data The number of passengers using public transport increases by 2.0% in November, as compared with the same month of the previous year City transport increases by 2.5% in the annual rate and inter-city transport by 1.5% Evolution of passenger transport More than 421.9 million passengers used public transport in November, 2.0% more than in the same month of 2016. City transport increased by 2.5% in the annual rate and inter-city transport did so by 1.5%. Within the last one, maritime transport increased the most, with a variation of 16.0%. City transport City transport was used by more than 260.7 million passengers in November, 2.5% more than in the same month of 2016. The subway transport increased by 4.6% and grows in all the cities. Palma s subway had the largest increase (25.1%). Among the cities with metro, the greatest increase in bus transport was registered in Valencia (1.4%), while the greatest decrease was registered in Barcelona (-0.8%). City transport by bus increased 1.1% in November, as compared with the same month of the previous year. The number of passengers of bus transport registered the greatest increases in Región de Murcia (6.0%), Comunidad Valenciana (4.0%) and Castilla y León (2.0%). In turn, Principado de Asturias (-1.0%), Cataluña (-0.9%) and Castilla La Mancha (-0.5%) registered the greatest decreases. Inter-city transport More than 114.2 million passengers used inter-city transport in November, representing a 1.5% increase as compared with the same month of 2016. By type of transport, maritime transport increased by 16.0%, air transport by 13.0% and rail transport by 4.5%. In turn, bus transport decreased by 2.0%. Local distance passengers decreased by 3.4% for bus transport and increased by 5.0% for rail transport. Regional distance passengers increased by 1.4% for bus transport and 0.4% for rail transport. Finally, long distance passengers decreased by 1.2% for bus transport and increased by 0.2% for rail transport. Within the latter, AVE (high speed railway) increased by 1.0%. Special and unscheduled transport More than 47.0 million passengers used special and unscheduled transport in November, indicating an increase of 0.3% in the annual rate. The number of special transport passengers decreased 4.2%, reaching more than 32.8 million users. Within this, school transport decreased by 3.3%, and work transport did so by 7.5%. In turn, unscheduled transport increased 12.7%, as compared with the same month of 2016, reaching more than 14.2 million passengers. TV - NOVEMBER 2017 (5/8)
