ITINERARY Day 1 (Saturday): Arrival in Lima D Welcome to Lima! You and your group will be picked up from the airport and transferred to the hotel. You will have the afternoon free to rest and acclimatize. efore dinner, we will have an introduction and briefing about your upcoming Peruvian adventure. Day 2 (Sunday): Lima - Colonial Center - L Discover Lima on a guided city tour! Peru s capital is a rich kaleidoscope of colonial architectural jewels, revered pre- Columbian sites, charming residential areas, and vibrant shopping districts perched over the blue Pacific. Visit the Rafael Larco Herrera Museum and see the largest private collection of pre- Colombian Peruvian art in the world. Our tour continues to the city s neighborhoods along the Pacific coast. Day 3 (Monday): Lima - Cusco - Sacred Valley Take a morning flight to Cusco (not included) and then drive to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. We will check in and spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing at the hotel. We will have an introduction to the Sacred Valley attractions later this evening. Day 4 (Tuesday): Sacred Valley - L Visit 3 sites in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. First, the Maras Salt Mines, where you will see hundreds of stunning salt ponds from an accessible view point. Then, a panoramic view of Moray, an Incan agricultural experimental center famous for its elliptical irrigation terraces. And finally, the fortress of Ollantaytambo view from the bottom, built by the Incas and where six huge rectangular monoliths (estimated weight: 50 tons) form the Temple of the Sun.
Day 5 (Wednesday): Sacred Valley - Amaru Community - L Decode the mysteries of Andean Iconography during a visit to the Amaru. Members of this community will make us lunch before we depart for the colorful Pisac Market (mostly accessible.) We will also enjoy a breath taking panoramic view of the Pisac Ruins. Day 6 (Thursday): Sacred Valley Machu Picchu - D Prepare to visit Machu Picchu! Take a train through the Sacred Valley of the Incas to the fabulous mountaintop ruins of Machu Picchu. For centuries, this lost city was buried in the jungle until Hiram ingham discovered it in 1911. A private bus will transfer you to the top of the ruins where a guided tour will illuminate the mysteries of Machu Picchu. Day 8 (Saturday): Sacred Valley - Cusco We ll visit the labyrinthine ruins of Qenqo ( zigzag ) & Puca Pucara (Red Fortress). Enjoy a guided visit and picnic lunch nearby Sacsayhuaman (speckled falcon), the fortress above Cusco whose precise zigzags of massive stone remain unmoved after centuries. Day 9 (Sunday): Cusco L Day 7 (Friday): Sacred Valley Explore Cusco on a private city tour! The tour includes a visit to the Cathedral, considered the best repository of colonial art from the Cusco school. We ll continue the circuit to Qoricancha (court of gold), also known as the Temple of the Sun, the religious and political center of Cusco during the Inca era. After yesterday s adventure to Machu Picchu, today is a day of leisure and relaxation.
Day 10 (Monday): Cusco - Lima Transfer to the airport to board your flight to Lima (flight not included). This afternoon we have enough time to buy some souvenirs, enjoy one special meal or just relax and prepare everything for your flight home. Day 11 (Tuesday): Flight back Transfer to the airport. About the tour: Peru is a program that combines a bit of history, culture, adventure and leisure. It is an all-inclusive basis tour. Transportation, accommodation, certified bilingual guides on all tours, and activities included (meals according to program). The hotels we have chosen for you present a good level of accessibility. Some have roll in showers, some have small (5 inches) step to get into showers, grab on bars, but in general they adapt their facilities to host people using a wheelchair. SAFA is able to provide a van and/or a bus with portable ramp. Individual or assisted manual transfer into seats is required all activities throughout the tour. Assistants or help: we recommend clients to use a manual chair, since the entire country is not 100% accessible, therefore we will provide assistance for the group to provide wheelchair assistance when needed. This will only be for tours and activities, NOT personal activities or duties. About the client: Client must be able to do individual or assisted manual transfers into bus seats, shower chairs, boats, etc. Willing to share transportation and activities with others (when necessary).
