Model A Flyer Model A Ford Club of NSW Inc Web site www.modelafordclubofnsw.com.au December 2017 Club Meetings are held at Holroyd Community Centre, Miller St., Merrylands. The parking entrance is in Newman Street. Meetings are held from 8 pm on the second Friday of each month unless otherwise stated. PRESIDENT S REPORT I would like to thank members for putting their trust in me as the new President and look forward to having some great events planned through 2018. Big thanks to the outgoing committee for all their hard work over the past year. Welcome to the new committee members for volunteering to help keep our club running. Big thankyou to Charlie and Helen Sharpe for taking on the roles of Treasurer and Secretary. First time on the committee for both. Without members volunteering we would not have a club and I thank those who have volunteered for a position. Well Christmas is almost here and I wish all members a very Happy Christmas and a safe New Year. For those members planning a holiday, safe travels. At the December meeting Rob Taylor presented the trophy for Club Person of the Year to Ron Cox. Ron has been a tremendous supporter of our club and has been instrumental in bringing in some new members throughout the year well done Ron. Jim Allingham presented the Family Encouragement Award to Phil Dalton, another deserving member well done Phil. The Gosford Car Museum run in November was the first Sunday run that I attended for the year although I attended most of the Wednesday Wanderers runs so I will try to improve on that over the coming year. Club member Greg Mirow, with his son Brendan travelled from Gunnedah to Gosford to attend the run. I thoroughly enjoyed the day. If any member has a good idea for a run, please contact our run coordinator Ken Young. He will be happy to hear from you. A reminder to members who are travelling to Murray Bridge in S.A. for the National Meet Please book your accommodation if you have not already done so. 2018 is the 90 th Anniversary of the Model A Ford in Australia so the committee will look at planning what we can do to celebrate this event. Members suggestions are welcome. The main celebration will be the 2018 National meet in Murray Bridge in South Australia. Hope to see you all at our monthly meetings and runs throughout the coming year. November Run to Gosford Car Museum On Sunday 19th November we had 8 Model A s 12 at the Gosford Classic Car Museum. Although we had a cloudy start to the day, the sun shone through in the end, making it a good day out. Most Members went for a walk through the museum, and as all the cars are for sale, they had to try very hard to keep their wallets closed. A great range of cars covering makes from Australia, Europe and America, ranging from early 19th century to present. After the tour through the museum we all enjoyed lunch and refreshments and talking about the cars we would have liked to purchase before the trip home.
