PARKS St. Paul Park has nine beautiful parks just waiting for your enjoyment. There is something available for everyone in our community at all times of the year. There are recreational facilities as well as serene parks. Come out and see what a wonderful parks system is available for your use. Lions Levee Park This park is located on the scenic Mississippi River. Follow 7 th Avenue to the end. It has a wonderful boat launch, lighted parking, picnic area, charcoal grills, a scenic overlook and is handicapped accessible. The boat launch is available from 4:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. This park is a combined effort of the St. Paul Park Lion s Club, The City of St. Paul Park, Marathon Ashland Oil Refinery and the National Park Service. Riverside Park This park is located on the backwaters of the Mississippi River. Follow 13 th Avenue to the end. This park is a nature study and is designed to be left in its natural state. If you like to take hikes, snow shoe, crosscountry ski and see wildlife, this park is for you. Ample parking is located on 13 th Avenue. This park is a combined effort of the City of St. Paul Park and the National Park Service. Dingle Park This park is located between Pullman Avenue, Portland Avenue and Holley Avenue. For summer enjoyment, it has a shuffleboard court, grills, benches and picnic area with shelter. It has a wonderful playground for toddlers. Abdella Memorial Park This park has a half mile paved walking path, tennis courts, ball field, half court basketball, and play equipment. Enjoy the picnic area with a shelter and charcoal grill. Abdella Park is located on Hastings Avenue with parking on Dayton Avenue. Abdella meets the needs of everyone. Veteran s Memorial Park A park designed as a tribute to those who have served their country. Much of the funding, labor and design of this park is due to the Veteran s Organizations of St. Paul Park; a great place to relax and enjoy the day. This park is located between 4 th and 5 th Street, one-half block off North Broadway and is handicapped accessible. Axelrod Park Formerly know as Pullman Park, is located on Pullman Avenue between 4 th and 5 th Streets. This park now has half court basketball, a ball field, play equipment, picnic tables, grills, shelter, new lighted parking and electrical service, and is handicapped accessible. Whitbred Memorial Park Whitbred Memorial Park is located on Lincoln Avenue between 13 th and 14 th Avenues. This park has lighted hockey and pleasure skating during the winter, where a warming house is available. During the rest of the year you may use the half court basketball, play equipment, picnic area and charcoal grills. Heritage Park 1345 Laurel Avenue (located on Laurel and 13 th Avenue). This park is a wonderful place for all age groups. Heritage Park has everything to amuse many ball fields, tennis & pickle ball courts, horseshoe pits, badminton court, sand volleyball, half-court basketball. In addition, there is a large pavilion and building, bathrooms, benches, picnic area, grills, electrical service box and fountain with jug filler. It has a wonderful playground for children. This is a multi use facility that is handicapped accessible. Heritage Park is geared for a full day of fun. Sittlow Park 1 st Street between 10 th & 11 th Avenue; one of our newest parks and named in honor of Barry J. Sittlow, former City Administrator. Construction began in 2009 and, with the help of many volunteers, extensive work was done to get the park ready for the installation of the playground equipment. The playground equipment was installed late in 2009 and is ready for kids to enjoy!
DID YOU KNOW? Parking Regulations No parking on any city streets from November 1 to April 1 between the hours of 2 a.m. to 6 a.m. or until streets have been cleared. At all other hours during such period, on-street parking shall be permitted only when such parking does not interfere with the removal of snow and ice from the city streets. Dog Licenses Only three pets per residence are allowed. Licenses can be obtained at the City Hall. A copy of a current rabies vaccination is required. Building Permits Building permits are required for most improvements call City Hall prior to any improvements or if you have any questions. Where to Vote The City has four precincts City Hall Community Room, Council Chambers and Heritage Park. To find out which precinct you are in, call City Hall. Lawn Watering The City of St. Paul Park odd/even lawn watering regulations are in effect year round. Properties having an address ending with an odd number may be watered only on odd number days, and properties having an address ending with an even number may be watered only on even numbered days. NOTE: If you have newly sodded or seeded yard, you must contact the City Office and receive a letter of permission to water on any day for a 30 day period. Call Before You Dig It s the law to call before digging (651-454-0002). Allow two (2) working days before you dig. Road Restrictions Planning a home improvement project in the spring? You may want to reconsider. Load limits are put in effect in March through May prohibiting large trucks, dumpsters and etc. For more details call Public Works at 651-459-3730.
