Payroll deductions are available for faculty and staff at the beginning of each semester. Deduction deadlines are May 12, June 13, and July 13. Please visit the Rec Sports Office for further details. This class is for adults only with little to no experience swimming. SESSION 1: JUNE 6-29 TUE/THU 6:30PM - 7:20PM Register by June 5 SESSION 2: JULY 10 - AUGUST 2 MON/WED 6:30PM - 7:20PM Register by July 7 $45 Students & Members ALL LEVELS COST: $45 PRE-SCHOOL For children 3-5 years of age to help them feel comfortable in and enjoy the water safely. Class Times: 5:30PM - 6:00PM LEVEL 1 - INTRO TO WATER SKILLS Increase student s comfort level around water in a safe environment. Class Times: 5:30PM - 6:00PM LEVEL 2 - FUNDAMENTAL AQUATIC SKILLS Successfully build on the fundamental skills from level 1. Participants will work toward basic stroke competencies.* Class Times: 6:10PM - 6:40PM *Pre-requisites: participants must demonstrate all the completion requirements in Level 1 and float independently with basic kick. LEVEL 3 - STROKE DEVELOPMENT This class builds on the skills developed in Level 2 while expanding knowledge and safety.* Class Times: 6:50PM - 7:30PM *Pre-requisites: participants must demonstrate all the completion requirements in Level 2 and do a recognizeable stroke with basic breathing technique. Participants who successfully pass will receive the American Red Cross Lifeguarding/First Aid and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certificate. SPECIAL PROGRAMS BOOT CAMP This intense cardiovascular and muscle strengthening workout will include the use of equipment! Come work with one of our certified personal trainers in this indoor/outdoor boot camp. Session 1: June 5-28 MON/WED 6:30AM - 7:30AM Register by June 2 Session 2: July 17 - August 9 MON/WED 6:30AM - 7:30AM Register by July 14 GET UP & MOVE This one hour training session will get your day started on an active note. It will wake up both body and mind through 20 minute sections of resistance, cardio and flexibilty training. This class will use minimal equipment, focusing mostly on your own body as resistance for the exercises. June 6-29 TUE/THU 6:30AM - 7:30AM Register by June 2 2 FIT Get fit through tandem style, functional workouts for you and your partner, designed to be engaging and challenging. This class will be led by one of our certified personal trainers. July 17 - August 9 MON/WED 5:30PM - 6:30PM Register by July 14 KETTLEBELL This program is one of the most popular ways to improve balance, strength, power, flexibility and endurance. This class will help you quickly get in shape! Kettlebell is challenging, efficient and you only need one piece of equipment! All fitness levels welcome. ADVENTURE TRIPS FREE CLINICS CAMPING 101 Ray Roberts Lake State Park, TX Interested in learning more about camping in North Texas? Join us for an overnight stay at Ray Roberts Lake State Park for a few lessons in basic camp craft that will prepare you for a night out on your own! SAT/SUN June 10-11 $45 Register May 22 - June 5 DAY CLIMB KAYAKING BASICS This introduction clinic covers basic strokes, t-rescues, wet exits and more. Perfect for both beginners and experienced kayakers! WED June 14 5:00PM ALL ABOUT CAMPFIRES Campfires are one of the best parts of camping! This fun clinic teaches the basics of fire starting including structures, techniques, and safety. MON June 26 6:00PM Lake Mineral Wells State Park, TX Learn the basics of outdoor climbing at the famous Penitentiary Hollow climbing area. The area features top rope climbing opportunities on conglomerate rock for all skill levels! SLACKLINING BASICS SUN July 2 $25 Register June 12 - June 26 CLIMBING AND BOULDERING TECHNIQUES DAY CANOE Elm Fork, Trinity River, TX Ever wanted to canoe? Spend a day with us while we teach the basics of paddling on the beautiful Elm Fork of the Trinity River. SAT July 22 $12 Register July 3 - July 17 Learn everything you need to know about slacklining, from setting it up to walking the line. Come and practice your skills with guided instruction. WED July 5 7:15PM Interested in climbing but don t know where to start? Come climb with an instructor that can show you basic climbing techniques and tips while enjoying the wall all to yourself. TUE July 25 7:15PM KNOTS Come learn a variety of knots, bends, and hitches that are very useful in both the outdoors and everyday life. WED August 2 5:00PM DAY HIKE AND SWIM Turner Falls Park, OK Spend a day hiking in Turner Falls, a park in Oklahoma that boasts many intriguing features including scenic hiking trails, caves to explore, and a 77 ft. waterfall!
