HOW TO GET TO GIRONA AND HOW TO MOVE AROUND ONCE YOU ARE THERE ARRIVING TO GIRONA There are two ways to get to Girona. The easiest is flying directly to Girona s airport. Girona is connected with most European countries by Ryanair (www.ryanair.com), which usually calls Girona s airport Barcelona. Other low fare carriers connect Girona with several European cities. Girona s airport is 20 mins. by taxi/bus to the city center, where the hotel and conference venue are located. The alternative is to fly to Barcelona, which is 100 km south of Girona, and about 2 hours by train. To get to Girona from Barcelona, you have several options that we describe below. BARCELONA AIRPORT GIRONA TRAIN/BUS STATION: If you are coming from Barcelona s Airport, you have 3 options: Option A: Only train (recommended) You can buy a train ticket to Girona in Barcelona Airport s train station. You will have to get down in Barcelona Sants station and take another train there to Girona. There is one train almost every hour from Barcelona-Sants train station to Girona, but please note that the last train leaves at 21.25. Option B: Only bus The bus Ràpid Aeroport stops in Terminal 1 at Barcelona s airport. The bus arrives directly at Girona s station. However, there are only three of these buses per day on each way. The ticket costs 21,05 one way (37.95 two way trip) and can be bought on the bus. You have the timetable below.
