Day 1 Arrive Delhi Upon arrival in Delhi you will be met and assisted by our company representative at airport. After traditional welcome at airport transfer to hotel. Overnight at hotel. Day 2 Delhi Morning breakfast at hotel. Later start half day city tour of New Delhi & drive past India Gate built in memory of the soldiers who laid down their lives in the 1 st World War drive past the Rashtrapathi Bhawan, Parliament House, the other government buildings also visit Humayun's Tomb the mausoleum of emperor Humayun s & Qutub Minar, is a towering 73 meter high tower built by Qutub-ud-Din Aibak in 1193. The tower was built to celebrate Muslim dominance in Delhi after the defeat of Delhi's last Hindu ruler. This tower is the highest tower in India, complete with five storeys and projecting balconies. Later in the evening visit Gurudwara Bangla Sahib the Sikh temple (if time permits). Later start half day city tour of Old Delhi start from Red Fort (from outside) built in red sandstone, Constructed by Mughal Emperor Shahjahan, Jama Masjid, India's largest mosque and Rajghat crimination place of Mahatma Gandhi. Enjoy a rickshaw ride in Old Delhi and walk through the narrow lanes and bust lanes. This tour will take you to the Chandni Chowk, one of the oldest and busiest markets in Old Delhi where you will visit the spice markets in the back alleys of Khari Baoli, Asia's largest wholesale spice market. See the spice selling process from truck to table, and meet a spice seller to hear him talk about how he mixes the spices for retailing. Next visit the Gali Paranthe Wali (lane of parathas variety of breads), which has been in operation since the 1870s. Parathas are one of the most popular unleavened flat breads in Punjabi North Indian cuisine; you can also visit many other street foods. If you want you can taste a number of delicious street foods and variety of parathas stuffed with fillings including potatoes, cauliflower, radish and cottage cheese. often considered the pinnacle of Mughal art in India, the Taj Mahal (closed on Friday s) was built by Emperor Shah Jahan for his beloved wife Mumtaj Mahal. When declaring it a world heritage site, UNESCO described it as the jewel of Muslim art in India. There are few words that can describe the magnificence of this monument. We then set out to explore Agra Fort, the work of Akbar the Great, who built it over the course of eight years (1565-1573). The fort was successively occupied by Emperors Jahangir and Shah Jahan; the latter died here, imprisoned by his son, left to gaze at the Taj Mahal he had built. Return back to hotel. Overnight at hotel. Day 6 Agra Fatehpur Sikri Jaipur (235 Kms/5 Hrs) Morning breakfast at hotel. Later drive to Jaipur en route visiting Fatehpur Sikri, constructed by Akbar in 1569 to honor Sufi saint Salim Chisti. Akbar s court occupied this city till it was abandoned due to non-availability of water but still in a state of perfect preservation. Later continue to Jaipur, Rajasthan s capital also known as the Pink City. The origin of this nickname becomes immediately apparent as you enter the old city walls and greet the pink-colored buildings that rise at every turn. Jaipur is an excellent place to enjoy unparalleled shopping and people watching. Make sure to spend time in the oldest and busiest of markets in the walled city at Johori Bazaar, a true feast for the senses. Aromatic spices fill the air, while oxcarts, rickshaws, cows, bejeweled women and men with shocking pink turbans jostle through the labyrinthine streets. Upon arrival in Jaipur check into your hotel. Evening is free at leisure. Overnight at hotel. Day 7 Jaipur Morning breakfast at hotel. Later the tour of Jaipur starts with an exhilarating excursion to Amber Fort perched on top of a hill. A royal ride on elephant up the hill like the Maharajas of past times and visit the Jagmandir (the hall of victory). Perched on a hillside on the outskirts of town, the palace was constructed in the 1590s by Maharaja Man Singh, the commander of Akbar s army, and was largely motivated by the highly defensible location. In the afternoon we return to the city for a look at the grand Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds). This magnificent structure was built to allow the royal ladies of the palace to discretely watch the grand processions along the main street, City Palace and impressive Jantar Mantar, an astronomical observatory built in the early 1700s by Maharaja Jai Sing II, the great warrior-astronomer to which this city owes its name. Late in the afternoon if you want to enjoy some local Rajasthani snacks then you can taste a local favorite, Kachori. Kachoris are deep fried bread stuffed with vegetables and lentils and are one of the most sought after snacks in north India. If sweets are your thing, try the Mawa Kachori, a dried fruit and mawa (milk solids) stuffed kachori, deep-fried and coated in sugar syrup. Optional Tour: You can enjoy a Vintage car tour. Day 8 Jaipur Morning after breakfast you will be free for relaxation and activities.
