I'm a huge fan of buying used cars to get the most for my money. But I also know you have to educate yourself so you don't get burned. The same thing is true for buying RVs. This book covers all aspects of finding the right motorhome at the right price and how to avoid the lemons and the bad deals.there are numerous examples in this book of what to look for and what to avoid, all laid out in easy to follow bulleted checklists. The author obviously has a lot of experience when he describes his wins (and losses) when buying RVs. I can't wait to try the practical tips from taking a test drive to negotiating the deal and enjoying the *right* motorhome for my family.i also appreciated the explanation of the various classes of motorhomes, A, B, C and the pros and cons of gas vs. diesel. This was followed by recommendations for best-buys in each class. Valuable information!i think the best advice, that really hits home, is to plan out what will make you happy with an RV and stick with the plan. Don't get drawn into the wrong RV with a sales pitch at the dealership or a private seller.this is an easy, quick read, but then will serve as a reference book as you set out to find the right RV for you.good luck!roger. If you are shopping a RV, your money is at peril, if you don't read this book FIRST.I've owed RV's from Pickup Campers to 40 ft Class A, and learned most of the lessons available in this book, the HARD WAY!Ivan E. Gillis I have to admit that I messed up when buying this book...and I'm really glad that I did. I will be buying a travel trailer and am not interested in a motor home. I discovered this oversight as soon as I started reading, but continued on anyway. The bottom line is that there is almost no difference and that was apparent almost immediately.the book provides a great overview of the RV buying process, what to consider, what to look for, how to research, etc. It's short and a fun easy read. I was never bored. It was definitely worth the price and I'm really glad that I bought it. The book changed my perspective on buying a used RV versus a new one and will save me thousands of dollars and lots of stress and headaches later. This is like having an experienced mentor along while shopping for an RV. Dozens of practical, money saving tips that will keep anyone from buying someone else's problem. Clearly written and illustrated, you'll have the tools needed to both get a good deal and work negotiations in your favor. Really, get this book. Where else can you get peace of mind before entering a major purchase decision for $2.99? Highly recommended.
Nice pamphlet. In a nutshell you will learn a few things. Some important one are:make sure not to be hasty when you try to buy a used RV, and stick to RVs that are less than 10 years old, has under 55 thousand miles, and above 27 thousand miles in the odometer. Also bargain the asking price down 20%, or walk away unless you found exactly what you want. Just give the seller your price and let them get back to you. You should also do your research as to the going prices for the type of RVs you are looking for. Remember that RVs under 25 feet are in very high demand. When you buy your RV you should be thinking of its sellability a few year down the line.make sure there are no leaks, or unusual sounds when you run the motor. Remember, long RVs can be very difficult to drive. The book had good details about what to look for in a used MH. The expected purchase prices listed in the book didn't sound realistic. For example, $40,000 for a 3 year old Fleetwood diesel pusher, try finding one for under $100,000 with low miles. I checked copyright and it was 2012. I also checked ebay and didn't find anything less than 10 years old as cheap as the author suggested. Otherwise, the book was good. The pricing listed was a serious distraction since it looked so out-of-date. I really enjoyed reading this book on how to choose and purchase an RV. I found this to be a comprehensive guide written in a concise manner by a person who obviously knows his stuff and has a wealth of experience in this field. This book answered all the questions i had and really is a must for anyone thinking of purchasing an RV.The book helped you decide which type (class) of RV is suitable for your individual needs, which make and models to buy, how to find the best deals, costly mistakes to avoid, how to check the vehicles out, how to negotiate the deal with the seller and much more.as well as the above, the book even tells you how to make more than a few dollars buying and selling used RV's. I know this information is good because i use many of the ideas given to buy and sell a few vehicles myself. Using the information could save you thousands in costly mistakes.i would definitely recommend this book for anyone wanting to buy an RV whether they have zero experience in this or already have experience buying RV's. Don't even start looking at motorhomes until you've read this book. The book is well written and worth it's weigh in gold.this is not theory. The author has owned many RVs and he knows how to find (and reconize) the real bargains.i love this book.jerry Minchey
