December Open Just passed 20,000 miles on my Corvette and my front tires are shot. That is roughly 10,000 miles further than the fronts on my 2012 Grand Sport, so I guess I can t complain. So now I have to face the old question: Buy new front tires and leave the rears, which have at least 10K worth of tread left, on the car or buy a full set of four. I have always bought full sets in the past because I hate mixing tires with different wear. And if I buy fronts only I have to stick with the same tire. I would never mix tire types. I have been eyeing the new Michelin All Season run fl ats so there is my quandary. If I go with the all season tire I have to buy all 4 but if I stay with the original tires I can save $600-700 dollars. I know... First world problem. Not to beat a dead horse but it is worth mentioning again. Charles is the club s photographer and an excellent writer who unfailingly submits 1 or 2 articles every month to the Newsletter. In the past couple of months he has been asked to also take the meeting minutes and publish them in the newsletter for our secretary, who has not been in attendance. Charles has more than once refused the position of secretary but seems to be pressed into service regardless. It is time to let Charles do what he is best at and have someone else take the minutes when Melissa is absent. 3

CCT General Membership Meeting Minutes June 17, 2016 Our president, Bob Kee, called the business meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. on June 17, 2016 with 22 people present. A motion was made by Bob Mischel to approve the May meeting minutes and seconded by Mitch Factor. Jim Iuele, our treasurer, reported that the treasury is in good shape. Mary Wolter, our membership chairperson, was absent, but the membership is status quo with 63 members and 59 NCCC members. Paul Wolter, our NCCC Governor, covered upcoming Corvette events including the 4 th of July parade in Westcliff Village, Fort Worth, Texas with lunch afterwards at The Mexican Inn Café on Hulen Street in Fort Worth. The Corvette Invasion is in Austin in July at the world s famous Circuit of the Americas F1 track. The 31 st Texas Roundup is in September. The combined Cowtown & CCT autocross and the NCCC governor s meeting are in September. Paul gave an interesting talk on the progress of his restoration of a 1962 Corvette. He said that he is fi nally making good progress that has been slowed because he doesn t have the shop at the auto class available this time. There was a short discussion on the Christmas Party and a motion was made and approved to have it in January with one descending vote. Respectively Submitted, Charles Whitaker The CCT Brunch The CCT Brunch will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at 9:00 am at: Benedict s 4800 Belt Line Rd Addison, TX 75234 972-490-0500 http://www.benedicts-restaurant.com RSVP to Paulette and Joe Wagner (paulette@themoralefairy. com or 817-253-4030) Call or text with any last minute changes, please. 4

CCT donated $500 to the American Legion and received this letter of appreciation: 5

Letters Greetings from Bullhead City, AZ to all of my dear friends in Dallas Corvette Club, I think about y all a lot and miss not being able to participate in your fun activities. I thought I would tell you about my recent experience, as an example of how different people are out here. Not the loving, kind, caring folks that we all enjoy. Well, I was in a meeting and this one women spoke about her husband having a Corvette and they had gone on a tour with group. I mentioned to her that I was a member of the Dallas Club and sure missed them. Also, that I was still thinking of getting another Corvette. There was another woman there who owns an older Vette convertible and she too was interested in knowing more about the group. Do you know, that the member never once invited us to come to a meeting or did not give any other information. I was personally appalled. For I was constantly putting our cards into Vette windshields hoping to get more people interested. I believe that the couple from Carrollton was one that found us in this way. Well, that is the way it is. Now, I must tell you that it is over 100, 124 yesterday. The heat is ferocious for it never cools down. The pavements hold the heat and hot day and night. I do not even go out, at all, unless to grocery. Stayed in 3 days in a row last week. So far this week, two days inside. You cannot cool the car down enough from one location to another. I have a lovely home here in lovely area. I see my son and daughter-in-law once a week for dinner for sure. They work and are busy. I play bridge one day a week and go to a couple of AA meetings. That is bout the extent of my activities; and, you know that is just fi ne. I am sooo lost without Clint. Worse here than in Dallas for I had so many activities to take my mind off and good friends. Well, into all life some rain must fall. When it gets cold in Dallas, please feel welcome to come out to see me. I live near to Route #40, and Colorado River. Laughlin, NV the mini Las Vegas is near and you can always help to build another fl oor to the Casino by what you lose (that is what Clint always said when we lost money). I go over to eat once in a while and then put my dollars into the slots...sometime get some back!!! My address is: 2350 Adobe Rd., Lot 62, Bullhead City, AZ 86442 940 465 2044 Miss and love each one of you, Margaret Margaret Brennan margaret.z.brennan@gmail.com 6

June 2016 Meeting & Raffle By Charles Whitaker The regular meeting of the Corvette Club of Texas was held on June 17th at Friendly Chevrolet and there were 22 members in attendance. Our secretary was absent so I will cover the meeting announcements that I usually cover here elsewhere in the minutes. The Raffl e Lady, Sandy Kapcsos sold 17 raffl e tickets and there were 3 prizes. I won a nice 1993 Corvette Ruby Red model. Twenty Two CCT Members Present 7

Three Raffle Prizes Charles Whitaker Bob Mischel Paul Wolter Thanks to Joe Wagner for another great newsletter last month and to Paulette for sponsoring the monthly brunches. Of course, thanks to Sandy & Richard Kapcsos for selling the raffl e tickets and conducting the raffl e. Thanks to Friendly Chevrolet and Mark Eddins for supporting the club, providing a place for us to meet and selling us such great Corvettes. There was an excellent looking 2016 Corvette Z06 with red interior and red brake calipers for sale on the front porch of Friendly Chevrolet that would make someone a very happy owner so check out the great deals that they have on Corvettes. Lastly, but most important, thanks to the Corvette Club members that join in our activities. It takes a lot of work from a lot of people to run the club. All of these efforts are what make our club such a nice organization. 8
