Hansa Shipping GmbH & Co. KG Hansa Shipping GmbH & Co. KG was founded in 1997. It represents the independent ship management company within the Hansa Treuhand Holding Group. It was founded as a shipping company in its own right with a view to coordinating the operations of the steadily growing fleet of Hansa Treuhand with a maximum of technical and commercial efficiency. Hansa Shipping began operating in 1997 with Hansa Century and Hansa Constitution (each with 2810 TEU). By the end of 2012 Hansa Shipping is operating 30 container ships, with a load capacity of 1350 to 6500 TEU, on a full management basis. In addition it has five tankers of the Afra or Suezmax class available. Another seven ships are currently being constructed at shipyards in China, and will be ready for handover by 2014. The tankers and container ships are generally chartered out to reputed liner shipping companies, in whose service the ships sail on various routes across the oceans of the world. The chartering is arranged by our affiliated company Hansa Chartering. As well as its modern fleet of tankers and container ships, Hansa Shipping's highly qualified team of technicians, nautical specialists and shipping clerks also operates the five-star cruiser fleet of Sea Cloud Cruises. This has formed part of the Hansa Treuhand Group since 1994, and offers individual trips to the highest level of quality. The fleet includes the big sailing ships Sea Cloud and Sea Cloud II, and the river yachts River Cloud and River Cloud II.
