The Opportunity: Your Art. Our Rooms. QT Museum Wellington are currently developing 18 new accommodation rooms on Level 4 of the hotel. We are calling for submissions from artists interested in generating in-room art for the interior wall space situated behind the bed of 9 of these Harbour facing rooms (along with an optional balcony wall space outside 6 of these rooms). We anticipate approximately 2-6 artists being selected via our judging panel, to complete their artworks in 1 or 2 of the accommodation rooms. The competition will launch in May 2018, with winners being announced in late June 2018. The new rooms are due to open late August 2018, so winners will have approximately 6-8 weeks lead in time to complete the art works. QT Museum Wellington will provide prizes for the short list of selected artists, as well as financially remunerate the winning artists for their time and expense. There is a budget allocated of $2-6k per room for each art work.
