MANAGEMENT OF CONTAMINATED SITES DUMPSITES(XADA) Potentially contaminated Sites Total Number Recorded: 396 According to the Circular 109974/3106/22.10.24 all the Greek dumpsites were evaluated for their impact to the environment and were classified to Categories A, B, C & D as following: A: means Risk >90, B: means Risk 70-89, C: means Risk between 30-69, D: means Risk 0-29 (no remediation needed) Closed up to now: 318 (remediation plans ready) Active : 78 60 remediation plans ready and the expenses foreseen 18 under study

IV. INDUSTRIAL and DANGEROUS WASTES YPEKA asked : The Technical University of Crete, Lab., of Management of Toxic and Dangerous Wastes (Team Leaded by Prof. J. Gidarakos) to develop a tool methodology for: THE INVESTIGATION, STUDY EVALUATION AND REMEDIATION OF CONTAMINATED SITES FROM INDUSTRIAL AND TOXIC WASTES. Document prepared 2009 (900 pages)

IV. INDUSTRIAL and DANGEROUS WASTES International Tender (18/11/20110for a Consortium to: the recording, first evaluation of contaminated sites from Industrial-Hazardous Wastes in the District of Attikis, and the Prefecture of Thessalonikis, Boiotias, Euboias, Kozanis, Achaias, Hrakleiou, Magnisias, Kabalas and Chalikidikis, where industrial activities are operating (800,000 EURO) Unfortunately the tender has been blocked due to judical dispute of the Tender Participants.
