SAMPLE ITINERARY HIGHLIGHTS The Land Down Under Land of the Long White Cloud Sydney Opera House The Great Barrier Reef Kangaroos, Koalas & Kiwis SYDNEY CONCERT TOUR DAY 1: DEPART Departing home you head west, flying over the Pacific Ocean enjoying 2 meals, 3 movies and a nap. DAY 3: SYDNEY It is true that you lose day 2 to the International Dateline heading to Australia/NZ but you pick it up again on the way home arriving back before you leave! Landing in Sydney early in the morning means you are just in time for a morning orientation tour with your Aussie Tour Manager. You will wind your way around Sydney Harbour (Aussies still use the u ) with a first stop at Mrs. Macquarie s Chair to have a picture opportunity with the glorious Sydney Opera House and majestic Sydney Harbour bridge just behind you. Traveling through the ritzy Eastern suburbs you will arrive at the famed Bondi Beach for a chance to get some sea air and some tucker (Aussie for food). After lunch, we will head back into the city and from there to our hotel for check in, a chance to freshen up and the first of your Australian dinners. DAY 4: SYDNEY After your breakfast, (hot and cold buffets daily), you will head down to the Rocks area. Australia s first people, the Aboriginals, have a proud 50,000 year history which was disrupted in 1788 when Captain Phillips commanded the first colonial fleet into what is now Sydney. The fleet of 11 ships commanded by the English were full of prisoners and your tour of the Rocks brings this early harsh history of convict settlement to life. After time for lunch and a walk alongside the Botanic Gardens you arrive for your guided tour of the Sydney Opera House. The House (as it is known) is a jewel in the crown of cultural life in the Southern Hemisphere and this architectural masterpiece continues to dazzle everyone who has the chance to tour it. This afternoon we will have time to prepare for our first CONCERT in Australia. Overnight Sydney DAY 5: SYDNEY MANLY You can start your day by walking across the Sydney Harbour Bridge, marveling at the vast and sparkling harbour below you, before sailing to Manly on Sydney Harbour past the Opera House and towards the heads that protect this bay boasting some 150 miles of shoreline. There are picture opportunities on all sides, the Prime Minister and Governor General s Sydney residences, spectacular beaches, homes of the rich and famous as well as untouched bushland. All this unfolds before you disembark at Manly where you can walk from the Harbour to the Pacific Ocean in 5 minutes to watch countless surfers try their luck on their next wave. A fish and chips dinner on the waterfront might be a perfect ending to a harbourside day. Overnight Sydney Rocks Sydney Opera House DAY 6: SYDNEY Today you have the chance to come up close and personal with Aussie animals at a wildlife park seeing koalas and kangaroos and many more animals that are unique to the world s largest island continent. An exchange program with an Australian ensemble would be an option for this afternoon providing a chance to meet some new Aussie mates. Share a CONCERT with the locals if you wish. Overnight Sydney DAY 7: DEPART Transfer to the airport for your return flight home or extend your tour Manly Beach Koalas
MELBOURNE EXTENSION TOUR DAY 7: MELBOURNE Arrive at Melbourne s Tullamarine airport to commence an afternoon of city sightseeing including passing by the grand Cathedrals, the Arts Centre, Melbourne s renowned parks, beaches and shopping precincts. It is said that Sydney is the film while Melbourne is the book so come expecting a great immersion into Australian life. Check into you hotel and overnight Melbourne Melbourne DAY 8: MELBOURNE We have some time to explore Melbourne catch a tram on one of the largest suburban light rail networks in the world and wander through the exciting architecture of Federation Square and some of the most exquisite arcades and city laneways outside of Europe. This afternoon you can prepare for your final tour CONCERT perhaps this time with a Melbourne ensemble. Overnight Melbourne DAY 9: PHILLIP ISLAND MELBOURNE Get a taste of Aussie rural life on a sheep farm with a chance to sense how farming families have lived in the past few hundred years. Continue onto Phillip Island, a world famous site where you can see the Fairy Penguins swim ashore to roost nightly. GOLD COAST EXTENSION TOUR DAY 7: BRISBANE GOLD COAST Arrive at Brisbane airport to commence an afternoon of city sights including visiting Southbank Parklands and enjoying the view of the city from high up on Mt. Coot-tha before driving onto Australia s beach city, the Gold Coast. Check into your hotel and overnight Gold Coast DAY 8: GOLD COAST Experience Australian animals instead of seeing them in Sydney in the vast expanse of Currumbin Sanctuary where the kangaroos will hop up to you and the Koala s don t mind a selfie. We will be sure to have you at the Sanctuary in time for the famous daily Rainbow Lorikeet feeding which is a sight to behold. There is time to explore the beach environment a coastal playground that reminds some of Hawaii or parts of Florida. Overnight Gold Coast Brisbane DAY 9: BRISBANE GOLD COAST Transferring back to Brisbane there is time for some further sightseeing in Australia s 3rd city before meeting up with a local ensemble for an EXCHANGE PROGRAM followed by your final tour CONCERT. Overnight Gold Coast DAY 10: DEPART Transfer to the airport for your return flight home Gold Coast Currumbin Sanctuary Southbank Parklands
CAIRNS EXTENSION TOUR DAY 7: CAIRNS Arrive at Cairns airport in time for an orientation tour of this northern city, a gateway to two world heritage listed sites! You transfer to the Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park to experience the richness and subtlety of Aboriginal culture. Learn about a unique 50,000 year history and try to have a boomerang return, throw a spear or learn to play the didgeridoo. Check into your hotel and overnight Cairns Great Barrier Reef DAY 8: GREAT BARRIER REEF CAIRNS Sail Australia s Great Barrier Reef for a day a reef so large it can be seen from outer space. Be submerged in a world of coral, brightly colored fish and a seabed teeming with life. Lunch is served on board our boat and a few hours later we return to Cairns after a spectacular, informative and breathtaking day. Dinner in Cairns this evening by own arrangement. Overnight Cairns DAY 9: CAIRNS Visit Kuranda Koala and Wildlife Park to walk with Australia s animals instead of seeing them in Sydney. Like most Australian s, the animals love the warmer climates so you will find them especially friendly here in Cairns. The team of naturalists at Kuranda will drive you through the rainforest in an amphibious army duck to share the unique ecosystem that is a rain forest. This experience is capped off as you glide a top the rainforest canopy via Skyrail - a gondola cableway that travels over the top of the luscious trees from the mountain s top to sea level. A final CONCERT this evening concludes the tour performance program. NEW ZEALAND EXTENSION TOUR DAY 7: AUCKLAND Arrive at Auckland airport with an orientation to New Zealand s biggest city best seen from high up on Mount Eden, one of NZ s many dormant volcanos. Check in and overnight Auckland DAY 8: AUCKLAND You tour the city seeing all the key sights of this capital of the Land of the Long White Cloud and visit Kelly Tarlton s Underwater World to gain an appreciation of the underwater life and the proximity New Zealand enjoys to the Antarctic. Enjoy an EXCHANGE PROGRAM with new Kiwi friends followed by a CONCERT. Overnight Auckland DAY 9: ROTORUA Travel by coach to Rotorua enjoying Hobbit style scenery seemingly driving through the set of the Lord of the Rings. After checking in and freshening up we transfer to an evening of Maori culture. Learn of the Maori song and dance traditions, the warrior ways of these proud people and experience traditional village life before eating an authentic Maori hangi dinner (cooked in the ground before your eyes). Overnight Rotorua Auckland Maori Tribal Art DAY 10: ROTORUA DEPART This morning you can visit the Maori Arts and Crafts Institute and experience the Whakarewarewa Thermal Park seeing for yourself the bubbling mud pools and majesty of the shooting geysers from deep beneath the earth s surface.
