Objectives The objectives of the Queensland on Tour New Zealand 2018 at Villa Maria, Auckland are to: - increase awareness of Queensland s destinations - raise the profile of Queensland s tourism product suppliers - grow business opportunities with key trade partners - strengthen and establish travel industry relations with product and marketing managers - provide training sessions for retail sales and reservation staff - generate media exposure for destination Queensland and New Zealand marketing initiatives We expect to meet around 80 people from the New Zealand tourism industry: targeting travel agents, product managers and reservation staff as well as selected travel trade journalists and consumer media journalists. Eligibility to Participate Queensland on Tour is an extremely popular event with Queensland industry and a strict criterion is in place to ensure maximum exposure for participating products. Each product must demonstrate how they meet these criteria. With only 40 slots available, preference will be given to Queensland based product to ensure the delivery of the experiential message, as well as showcase the depth and diversity of Queensland tourism product To keep the event interesting and innovative, we will reserve 20% of total participation space for new products which are internationally ready. Tourism and Events Queensland reserves the right to determine final product participation for Queensland on Tour 2018, and the decision made by Tourism and Events Queensland will be final and no correspondence entered into. Applicants must meet and demonstrate the following criteria: - Suitability of product for the New Zealand markets. - Availability of product in the New Zealand regions, appropriate booking facilities or inclusion in trade programs, and a brochure suitable for the New Zealand market. - Demonstrated marketing activities in the regions including advertising in trade/consumer promotions and/or participation in previous in market initiatives. - Long-term operational stability and commitment to selling to the New Zealand markets. Total emphasis must be on Queensland-based products. National operators or products representing destinations other than Queensland will be requested not to promote or sell those products. - Preference will be given to relevant product represented by a Queensland/Australiabased delegate. - Participants must have no outstanding debts with Tourism and Events Queensland. - Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate active participation in the Regional and International Inbound Tourism forums. - Receipt of requested materials and payment by deadline dates.
Participation Package: (based on 1 delegate) - 2 nights accommodation at Rydges Hotel Auckland CBD based on single share hotel room including buffet breakfast - VIP Industry Welcome function on Thursday 3 rd May - Bus transfers to and from hotel to Villa Maria Winery - Catering throughout the day of event (including: tea and coffee, lunch, afternoon tea and evening finger food, beer, wine and soft drinks) - Gala dinner at Villa Maria including entertainment Friday 4 th May - All attending agents will receive a Queensland on Tour manual containing participants product information Delegate Application and Payment for Queensland on Tour A delegate application as well as indemnity form must be submitted by Monday 18 th December 2017. Tourism and Events Queensland will not process any applications without completion of all required components. Primary Delegate total cost: AUD$2,200 including GST Secondary Delegate total cost: AUD$880 including GST This mission will consist of 40 suitable products plus the team of Tourism and Events Queensland. Participation is costed on one delegate per product, secondary delegates are available on request please contact rachael.titter@queensland.com for further details Tourism and Events Queensland reserves the right to select final participants should the mission be oversubscribed. Failure to meet deadlines and payment will result in the cancellation of your application, as space is limited. Confirmation of your participation will be sent to you by email on 15 th January 2018 from Tourism and Events Queensland New Zealand. Payment Schedule for Queensland on Tour Participation fee: AUD$2,200 including GST (based on 40 participants) with payment due by 1 st February 2018. Not included: air travel from/to Auckland or from any other destination to the start destination and from the end destination of the itinerary, accommodation other than specified in the itinerary, transfers other than specified in the itinerary, meals not detailed in the itinerary, personal expenses, travel insurance, public liability, local taxes, shipment and delivery of presentation materials. Air Travel Flights: International flights to/from Auckland or any other destination to the start destination and from the end destination of the itinerary will be the responsibility of the participant. Accommodation Additional nights outside the official itinerary at Rydges Hotel Auckland will be at your own expense and to be arranged direct with the property. Transfers Bus transfers to/from venue, Villa Maria Winery are included. Note: Airport transfers are NOT included. Miscellaneous Shipment: Tourism and Events Queensland New Zealand will create a dedicated Queensland on Tour New Zealand 2018 product manual containing collective participants product information. You will be contacted to confirm the information you submitted in your registration form. Participating product suppliers are permitted to bring along any brochures they wish to distribute to agents on the day. Full shipping address details for dispatch will be sent to once your placement confirmed. Decorations, Giveaways and Prizes: The venue will be decorated with generic Queensland posters and displays and you are welcome to bring pop-up banners to brand your table space, please note there will not be back panels behind the desk this year these will be table presentations only, power supplies will be available at the venue however please ensure your devices are full charged to start the day. We are putting together incentive goodie bags for agents when they arrive during the day, can you please email rachael.titter@queensland.com if you have suitable Queensland product available that you are able to provide for this purpose (e.g. chocolate, caps, giveaways, tickets etc.). We will also be seeking vouchers/tickets/passes to give away as part of a regional prize draw at the Gala Dinner for travel agents, please include details in your registration form. Travel Insurance All participants are responsible for personal travel and health insurance including public & products liability, workers compensation and property insurance coverage for the duration of the mission. It is highly recommended that coverage be purchased prior to departure. Tourism and Events Queensland is not responsible for my actions while on the Queensland on Tour event, and bears no legal responsibility for me or for my acts. Tourism and Events Queensland merely acts as a sponsor of the Trade Mission and secures accommodation, transportation and arranges meetings for members of the Trade Mission. 3.
