WICHITA MOUNTAINS WICHITA MOUNTAINS REGION - THE WICHITA MOUNTAINS ARE AMOUNG THE OLDEST ON EARTH ABOUT 500 MILLION YEARS OLD. MOUNTAIN SCOTT IS 2,464 FT. AND VISITORS CAN DRIVE TO THE TOP.

WICHITA MOUNTAINS WICHITA MOUNTAINS WILDLIFE REFUGE - 59,000 ACRE WAS SET ASIDE FROM THE COMANCHE-KIOWA- APACHE RESERVATION 1901. WILDLIFE - BUFFALO, LONGHORN CATTLE, ELK, DEER, WILD TURKEY FORT SILL - ESTABLISHED IN 1869 TO STOP INDIAN RAIDS.

SANDSTONE HILLS SANDSTONE HILLS REGION - HAS SANDSTONE HILLS THAT RISE UP TO 400 FT. THE ECOSYSTEM IS DIFFERENT THAN THE WESTERN SIDE OF THE STATE WITH THE CROSS TIMBERS, GRASSLANDS AND FERTILE SOIL. FIRST OIL WAS FOUND IN OSAGE COUNTY.

ARBUCKLE MOUNTAINS ARBUCKLE MOUNTAINS REGION -IS IN SOUTH-CENTRAL OKLAHOMA. THE HIGHEST POINT IS 1,415 FT. THE ARBUCKLE MOUNTAINS RUN EAST-WEST, MOST MOUNTAINS RUN NORTH-SOUTH TURNER FALLS HAS TWO NATURAL SWIMMING POOLS AND A 77 FT. WATER FALL.

PRAIRIE PLAINS PRAIRIE PLAINS REGION - NORTHEASTERN PART OF THE STATE. HAS THE RICHES SOIL IN OKLAHOMA. FARMERS GROW WHEAT, TOMATOES, STRAWBERRIES, PEANUTS THE SECOND LARGEST CITY IN OKLAHOMA TULSA. COAL IS FOUND IN THIS PART OF THE STATE.

OZARK PLATEAU OZARK PLATEAU REGION - NORTHEAST OKLAHOMA CONNECTS TO THE THE OZARK MOUNTAINS THAT RUN THROUGH ARKANSAS. THERE ARE LOTS OF TREES, BERRIES AND VEGETABLES GROWN.

OUACHITA MOUNTAINS OUACHITA MOUNTAIN REGION - SOUTHEAST OKLAHOMA INCLUDES SOME OF THE ROUGHEST LAND IN OKLAHOMA. HIGHEST PEAK 2,666 FT. LOTS OF TREES AND RIVERS, BEAVERS BEND AND ROBBERS CAVE.

RED RIVER PLAINS RED RIVER PLAINS REGION - VERY SOUTHERN OKLAHOMA RICH AND SANDY SOIL. THE RED RIVER TRAVELS A 150 MILES THROUGH THIS AREA. LOGGING WAS A BIG BUSINESS ON THE RIVER IN THE PAST.
